It is an awesome-looking guitar, I'd love the flathead screws. The sound is perfect IMHO however you said unboxing so many times that I keep imagining an inboxing video of you where you put a prestigious guitar back into a box. That would be Vintage 2! Electric Boogaloo! My serious question is why do you not do acoustic guitar reviews? You do it when you visit a show but never in a studio. Could you recommend a cheap parlor-sized acoustic for travel?
Suspending a guitar by a tuning peg seems rather cruel to the poor guitar! Like being lifted by your testicles. They are surely not designed to take that kind of weight. I did cringe.
Vintage II, Electric Boogaloo! First of all, great video as always. Second, it's great to see you back and enjoying yourself 🙂 Thirdly, I hope you do the comparison with the Custom Shop and the Harley Benton. I just bought the HB TE62 (49 minutes ago) and I'm really curious. Thanks!
I love me a Tele! That one sounds really good, as it should. Glad to see you Wampling once again. Love the sound of the bridge pickup. Also, Big Muffs rule. But really, when are the big two going to stop re-issuing and start innovating again? Like..how many Slash model guitars do we need? Old teles?
Seems like a great Telecaster. Loved the American Vintage series before they remade the whole range and replaced it with the American Original series. They have a bunch of options from vintage inspired Classic Vibe Squiers and Vinteras to modern standard and modern options, I think it's important that you have the option of going vintage spec outside of the Custom Shop. Oh.. and Vintage II Electric Boogaloo.
whats your issue with the flathead screws? thats how the originals were and they look authentic, well, cuz they are? why would you take it away from the vintage vibe by putting phillips in?
Vintage Boogaloo, Fender 2! Fender gets so much money from me. I'm trying to be strong, but I think I'm going to cave and get the '61 Strat, just cant decide which color I want since they don't offer it in Shell Pink... yet!
What a terrible time to release their beautiful guitars, these are $2,000 guitars costing the equivalent of $3,000 because of Brexit and the weak pound (in the UK) the pound collapsed the day after Brexit and has fallen ever since :o(
Beautiful guitar. Real cool! Do you know of any least expensive guitar with this kind of vibe? What about the American Professional II or maybe the Classic Vibe '50s Tele in butterscotch? Thank you.
OK ok! Part of this YauTaub-Guitar-Channels is: make people buy stuff .... which is OK imho. BUT gets boring more and more ... 😒 Why not just take one of your working horse Tele (a good Tele is a working horse at its best!) 🤔and change the Bridge and the PUs, give it a fret job maybe ... and have fun with what YOU achieved 🥰 This guitar will be much more "your guitar" than anyone you bought a a high price ‼✅
LOVELY! I wanna point out that Squire put out a Tele almost exactly like this about 7 years or so ago,and a mate of mine brought one into my studio and he got sounds out of it the really impressed EVERYONE. And he’s an Ibanez hard rocker guy when he’s not playing Surf… but his new Squire Butterscotch Vintage Tele became his go-to instrument for everything. I still fantasize about buying it off of him so that my studio always has it available.
Whadoyamean they "finally" released a vintage telecaster? They did that back in 1950! 😂lol I kid. I want one of these. Badly. And the 61 three tone burst Strat.
You're beautiful Andy ! You are ! Nice review mate and I look forward to the follow up comparisons you have planned. Among others I have a Pro II Telecaster and love the way it feels to play but might be interested in changing the pick ups at some point in the future so if you are ever in a position to pull a few options together for comparison I'd be interested to hear. (I'm leaning towards the vintage 52 or the twisted tele, maybe a combination, any thoughts ? )
Aaaaaaah Telecasters. Always the same, still always different, always a real musical poem, and this Vintage II electric boogaloo doesn't fail. Splendid guitar, gorgeous sounds !
The case has been the same since forever, that’s why the new guitars are in the moulded cases but the vintage spec ones come in the loose worse cases, but that’s how it was. More people would moan it wasn’t period correct than care if the guitar was protected… it’s a an argument that could never be won. Personally if it turns up unharmed I can stick it in a more protective case or I can just leave it flooopy n drooopy and see what becomes of it. Some could argue your custom shop is a replica so it’s not a real telecaster it’s just trying to be one, but someone could buy a modern day one now and it’s more authentic just being a 2022/2023 tele
Nobody buys a vintage spec tele to play a fuzz pedal for an entire set, that’s what Ibanez does. If you need a guitar to play every genre of music the vintage spec is the ticket. The magic is clean and slightly overdriven on this guitar
Pretty cool guitar, you got some awesome tones out of it! Great option for a proper solid guitar, especially if you want Fender on the headstock. But on the other hand, Maybach. 🤣 Vintage II Electric something!
Vintage 2 Electric Booglaoo...... You made me laugh out loud with the getting stronger comment. 2k teles are nice but the Harley proved that for non professionals the difference is most likely playability

Have you ever tried rolling rolling a finger board/frets? You can make a cheap guitar play great by leveling the frets considerably (more than usual) then crowning/polishing/rolling them. It's very easy especially if you don't care about the finish on the neck. Most of it can be done with a sanding sponge. While American Fender's are amazing, I feel like they are in the same boat as Gibson and about $500 over priced. You can get a $700 guitar from another brand that will play better and have higher specs. I understand the brand is worth $$$, but not the cost of a second guitar premium.
I've owned both, and can say that there are definitely $700 guitars that play just as nice as a factory Gibson. Does that mean there is no reason to own a Gibson, absolutely not.
hi Andy , entertaining video ( vintage 2 electric boogaloo) have you tried the Harley Benton TE 52 ? also vintage specs at a price of around 150,00 euros. I had a Fender custom shop tele, great guitar, but had to unfortunately sell it due to financial difficulties. But I have to say for the money the H:B: does the job admirably .
The HB is not vintage specs, it has a very flat radius and a headstock truss adjust, which change the feel and sound quite significantly. A cool guitar for the price for sure, but doesn't check the same boxes.

It is a beautiful guitar, and it is an awesome guitar to play. I also tested it with an MXR M305 Tremolo pedal, and it was great. However, I only play guitar as a hobby, and I am not a gigging or jamming guitarist. It costs AU$4,100 normally at my local guitar store, so I won't be in a position to buy one anytime soon, nor can I justify making that kind of investment at the moment. A Squier Telecaster for AU$445 is in my range for now. For anyone who can spend the money on a 1951 Fender Telecaster, it will be a joy to play and something to cherish.
I bought a Vintage II mahogany 63 Tele. To fix the slightly sticky backside of the neck, I used paper towels to wipe it off after playing and the slightly rough surface of the paper towel eliminated the stickiness fairly soon.
It's strange how Teles off-the-rack come with that slick low action ... but an off-the-rack Strat has to go to the shop to have nut slots finished properly.
Vintage 2 boogaloo. A little out of my price range unfortunately. If you had to compare, where would you rate the te-62 against a squire Tele that sits in the 300-450 price?
I ordered one. Should be here next week. I love the vintage specs & the new original spec 51 pickups sound amazing. I also own a Custom Shop Relic Nocaster that I love as well. Can't wait to compare them side by side.
Looks like that Harley Benton needs to go on a diet...perhaps it should go on a Vintage two electric booger diet? Looking forward to the comparison video, Andy.
If Fender wanted to make that guitar to be more vintage specifications correct they could have made the neck a soft V shape which a lot of people would want, and make the neck switch position the "mud" circuit, which nobody wants.
