About that song, it was actually an Indonesian who lives and study in Japan back at 1960 who wrote the song in Indonesian language, before the director wanted it to be sung with Japanese accent.
#This is the original song text written by an Indonesian in 1960:
The Indonesian version :
Mosura ya Mosura
Dengan kesaktian indukmu
Restuilah doa, hamba-hambamu yang, terlanda bangunlah, dan
Tunjukanlah
Kesaktianmu
#And here is the Japanese revised version by the director, Indonesian text read with a Japanese accent:
Mosura ya Mosura
Dongan kasakuyan indo muu
Rusuto uiraandoa, hanba hanbamuyan, randa banunradan
Tounjukanraa
Kasaku yaanmu
#So, the real translation of the song would be:
Mothra, oh Mothra
With the power of your Mother
Please grant the wishes of your loyal servants, Wake Up and
Show us
Your power
@@ombilicdes mothra doesn't really have a mother because Everytime she quote unquote dies she always reincarnates herself from her egg like a Phoenix rises from it's ashes when it dies.
I'm Indonesian , and after reading your comment and listening to this song very carefuly, you're absolutely right! I never heard mothra's original theme so IWas looking for it since the mothra's theme for KOTM released today, and boy this is a surprise!
I know it sounds very noticeable. Tho I suppose the girls clothes give bit of clues; traditional Indonesian dress.
Mothra may not be the strongest monster but she is the bravest monster of all! That's why she should be called the queen of the monsters!
+treecko kirby oh my god people has made godzilla x mothra ships before ok?
sadly, yes they made a ship...
WHY WOULD YOU SHIP TWO GIANT MONSTERS!!!
Holy hell. I watched this as a child and figured out as an adult that the tune stuck in my head was this gem. All because I heard the monster's name and thought that it sounded extremely similar to a word from the lyrics. God I love movies.
Same, i even stumbled upon a comment i wrote 9 years ago, ''I loved mothra when i Was 8 and WATCHING after 3 years it make me cry''. even then i always came back, this song get stuck in ones head, in a good way
It was great hearing this song again in King of the Monsters, Hail to the Queen!
TheAutistWhisperer totally! Brought tears to my eye. It was beautiful!!! Picked up my recorder at home and trying to learn to play it now. :)
Big thank you to Godzilla KOTM for keeping this song alive!
I saw it I also liked the song alive its really great gracias Spanish = Thanks English
They brought this back for Godzilla Kotm.
As a man, this is my first time I'm crying while watching a movie. When she's opened her wings for the first time. This song is playing, and then she's going to call Godzilla and the girl says mothra, the queen of the monsters. I'm crying 😭😭😭
I didn't see the theme song on anywhere cause I didn't want to be spoiled. Once it graced my ears at the movie today I was desperately trying my best not to scream in joy (In fact I was trying hard not to scream throughtout the movie).
@@onerandomguy4832 yeah, I'm lil bit screaming happyly when the queen ashes drop into the king. That's always the gamechanger for the king to turn back the situation and win!!
Anyone here watching this beautiful tribute to the queen of all kaijus after watching king of the monsters ?
Yup. Saw it yesterday. A Godzilla fan I know said several themes in _GKotM_ were carry-overs from their original versions, so here I am.
Not a Godzilla 'fan', but have seen a handful of them over time. I really enjoy the Legendary Goji movies 'cause they eliminate a lot of the in-your-face cheese of the classic Toho movies that I have trouble getting over.
Don't believe the critics. If you like Godzilla or kaiju films, it's a Hell of a ride that stands up with Final Wars for its action and cinematography!
Did you know?
Mothra's songs in the Godzilla film including Godzilla King of the Monster were inspired by traditional songs in Indonesia? According to creator Mothra is a monster originating from the southern island of Indonesia, and the Indonesian song lyrics read like this:
Mosura ya Mosura
(Mothra ya Mothra)
Dongan kasakuyan indo muu
(Dengan kesaktian indukmu)
Rusto uriaandoa, hanba hanbamuyan,
Randa banunradan.
(Restuilah doa hamba hambamu yang rendah, bangunlah dan)
Tounjukarnaa
(Tunjukanlah)
Kasaku yaanmu
(kesaktianmu)
I guessed it was Indonesian when the fairies were singing the chants. The 'hamba-hambamu' part gave it away
Thank you humans for your praise 🦋🐛
Mothra if Orga completely xorbia Godzilla and became a clone would you kill it and kill both of them together or you try to find a way to help Godzilla Break Free.
The instrumental of the song playing in the new Godzilla film 😭
Godzilla : King of the monsters
The best Godzilla movie in Monsterverse.
Created with love for the kaiju and for fans.
Bear McCrery did outstanding job with his score. Director and screenwriters as well.
For me this movie is perfect.
And critics knows shit
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who came here to enjoy this great song! I love seeing all of you Kaiju fans.
I remember watching this video years ago when I was a kid. I loved it very much then and still love it now. Never fails to remind me how much Mothra, Godzilla and all their pals have meant to me over the years.
Can't wait to see the new Mothra appearance.
In Godzilla 2019
Imagine her just going in and just wrecking everyone who opposes her
Dude, she's beautiful as heaven. Her scene in trailer makes me cry.
I love Mothra! The fact that she's purely a spiritual being tends to contrast the creation of many of the other monsters very well, I think! But you have to admit, Mothra seems to take a LOT more punches than all the other monsters! If someone's going to be taking the bullet, more often than not it'll be Mothra! She's the Mick Foley of kaiju!
True. But for some reason a lot of people don't like Mothra. Most of them thinks she is too weak. But I disagree with them.
LunarKid0 I disagree with the majority in that field too. I mean, she tends to hold her own as well as any of the monsters, she just tends to... I want to say heroically sacrifice herself a lot, plus she seems to, by gamer standards, tank quite a bit, drawing a lot of the attention to herself to protect others.
Besides, EVERY monster in the Godzilla universe has died at LEAST once, with very few exceptions. Bash Mothra though they might, if staying alive throughout the franchise were the criteria for a great monster, then "Minila Vs. Jet Jaguar" would be the movie fans were desperately waiting for, as they're the only two I can think of off the top of my head who have never been killed in one way or another. And the day they make THAT movie is the day you'll find me on a high ledge singing "I Believe I Can Fly", let me tell ya!
Eh, to sum up my longwinded response, I agree with you!
izarian42 actually Mothra never dies, she merely gets "reborn" her life force transfers to the infant Mothra and her physical life cycle starts all over again like a Pheonix. SHe is in fact, a goddess, not a kaiju. In that, she is totally unique amongst the toho world.
sargeantfury Understood, but in this capacity I feel the destruction of one's physical body, whether they'll be back or not, still more or less constitutes a heroic sacrifice on their part. Only difference is, at the end of the day, you can rack 'em up and play again!
izarian42 yes absolutely it is a sacrifice on her part and a big part of her mythology. A "Christlike" selfless sacrifice for the good of others, even those who have been unkind to her. She is the physical embodiment of true love. Long Live Goddess Mothra
She's comming back in GXK new empire!!!
wait really?! is it confirmed?
i mean she does hatch and resurrect from a new egg even if she died in KOTM
@dracodracarys2339 look in the trailer, in the girls eyes you can see mothras face when paused at the right time
Mothra. the only one of the Kaiju worshiped as a God. Love you Mothra.
Anyone here after we've seen Mothra on the big screen for Godzilla king of the monsters :D
When I was a kid, 45-50 years ago, I used my tape recorder to record this song off the TV when Mothra appeared in one of the monster movies. I played it over and over until I memorized it, and can still sing it in Japanese, but I never knew what it meant, until now. Thanks
For those who might be unaware, although the person who posted this video may not be the original poster, this was one of the first Mothra videos and one of the earliest Godzilla videos on UA-cam. I personally remember seeing this as early as 2007, back when UA-cam was a hideous, Java-deprived nightmare.
I love these ladies. May they both rest in piece as Mothra carries them to heaven
@@neuvillette_933 i think he was talking about the first shobijins in the very first mothra movie (1961) and they passed away
Mothra is our mother. She is the epitome of femininity in the world of monsters. Don’t let her beauty and splendor deceive you. She is capable of utter destruction with the tornadic winds she creates as she glides by. She is so respected, and the only monster to have her own theme song. I wish I could sing like those beautiful diminutive twins, and conjure mothra whenever I’m in need
The lyric is in Indonesian.
First line is right but most of the song has wrong translation lol
The only monster to have her song ? Doesnt ghidorah, rodan and even king caesar have one ?
@@helloworld-od3im most of the song is "right" according to the 2nd part which is in japanese. I don't speak a word of indonesian, but with minor mistranslations and assuming the song repeats itself both in indonesian and japanese, we can be in front of some language differences making a proper translation impossible if not knowing both languages.
If you can provide the right translation from indonesian would be interesting to compare.

This song seems to be in Malay (or Indonesian)
I guess this is the actual transcription:
Mothra ya mothra (Mothra oh mothra)
Dengan kesaktian indukmu (With your motherly power)
Restuilah doa hamba-hambamu yang rendah (Answer the prayers of your lowly servants)
Bangunlah dan tunjukkanlah kesaktian (Rise and show your power)
Who are here after watching the magnificent Mothra in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Year 2019.
I've honestly never seen any of the "Kaiju" films in their entirety, but when this song with its tune as well as the translation of what they are saying about Mothra is bringing me to tears with how pure and beautiful their love and loyalty for Mothra is...
note: some this song lyric is indonesian language
Mothra Ya Mothra
Dengan kesaktian indukmu (with the power of your parent)
Restuilah doa hamba-hambamu yang rendah (answer the prayer of your servants low)
Bangunlah dan tunjukkanlah kesaktianmu (Get up and show your power)
After coming here from the Godzilla king of monsters trailer 2, I'm wondering if the twins will actually be in the movie, you can't have mothra without the twins, they have to be involved or be In a scene somewhere in the new movie
isiah reyes The director says that Madison Russel (Millie Bobby Brown) is going to have a similar role to the twins having a connection with Mothra
@@sglm5702 Hopefully, it'll work because I know mothra will play a huge part in this whole monsterverse eventually or down the road, or even have a spin off of her own
How could they make them work for a general Western audience? Some kind of superhero or monster girl approach?
@@aceyspud551 I mean mothra was a classic monster movie in the west and the east, also if I were to be honest with you, I think they would've approach the twins like the tribe from skull island, in skull island the tribesmen treat king Kong like a god, so I feel like it should be the same here, or have the twins be little girls if they want to be realistic, but I don't think western people won't be weirded out over this, our monster was a 50 foot ape that had a love interest in a girl and fought a t Rex on an island, so I don't think legendary are not afraid to show this type of approach on mothra, I think they'll be a beautiful touch and creative approach in the monster verse in my opinion
They don’t even need them as pixies proper. The latest batch of Godzilla movies out of Japan just had cuts to random twins when She would hatch from Her cocoon or show up in the film for the first time, wherever appropriate, as an homage. Barely but a few frames in the films, but a nod to the original pair in the older continuities. Subtle and nice.
And I can do without the twins, so long as they don’t Americanize Her and make Her just another dumb monster.
(SPOILERS) Godzilla:King of the Monsters killed me when i found she died. it killed me. i cried for about 30 minutes just listening to this and remembering her. i know this sounds stupid but when i was a kid,my dad introduced me to Godzilla. i loved it. Mothra was my favorite character. She still is. RIP my babygirl🙏🏻😇❣️
Thanks Godzilla: King of The Monsters for including this song
Respect, nostalgia ❤️ in godzilla king of monster
There are just so many versions of this. The one, that I love the most, I am just watching it RIGHT NOW again, is from the 1992 movie. Very simplistic, very moving. I cry every time and I´ve got goosebumps...
I'm missing you very much Mothra T.T (Last time I see you was overed 10 years)
yes and 15 years for me or more idk i saw all Mothra Films in 3or 4 weeks only 1 time but i can't forget
The lyric is made from indonesian and they sang with japanese accent
The original lyric is
Mosura ya mosura ya (mosura oh mosura oh)
Dengan kesaktian indukmu (With the power of your Mother)
Restuilah doa hamba-hambamu yang rendah (bless your frail servants)
Bangunlah dan tunjukkanlah kesaktianmu (rise and show your power!)
I've just realized this. So that's why somehow it does sound like Bahasa.
This is why mothra is the second best kaiju there is in my opinion and that's why she's are DAMN PRETTY GUARDIAN ANGEL

I just image that in Godzilla 2018 where the twins come out of the lincolin memorial with modern day clothes and as they walk down to the first step their clothes turn into their ancient clothes and start to sing mothra song. I just imagine it.

Yes but Asian women are from asia and japanese women are from japan dude.
I recently broke paths with my only friends, one of them used to talk about Godzilla with me on a daily basis due to me bringing the theme to the table once (like, I shaped his personality in some ways, he loves Evil Dead because of me too), now I have no one to go to watch KOTM, which seems to be actually good.

I hope so too. It really connects her union with humans like the old films did.
She is! Look on ITunes, the soundtrack for the movie is available for pre-order and you can see one of the “songs” titled “Mothra’s Song”
Mothra bansai
Long live the queen 👑
Such a beautiful song! I love Mothra! Queen of the monsters!
This song does something to my spirit since I was a child.. Mothra is the bravest of all Kaiju.
Mothra is my next favorite Kaiju after Godzilla, but this song/chant adds to her character as well as sound good.
Since I saw godzilla king of the monsters I’ve been signing this all the time at work..
I am scared that Hollywood my ruin Mothra's origins and turn her into a bad girl or a mutation
I know. It's not exactly what hollywood thinks it can sell to a modern american audience...still have high hopes after watching the 2014 reboot. Gareth Edwards seems to be a Mothra fan.
(then again... think MUTO counts?)
I was worried about that same exact thing, as much as I love the idea of the 2018 Godzilla sequel being a monster mash reminiscent of Ghidrah: the Three-Headed Monster, I'm afraid of the possibility that they'll westernize Mothra along with Rodan or King Ghidorah. Just going by the teaser trailer alone, they seem to be basically lumping Mothra in with all the other monsters as being an "EEEVIIIL!" creature created by the atomic bomb. I'm aware that plot elements could easily change between now and then, but Mothra is not just another monster, she has a very distinct and unique role in the Toho universe. She's strictly a benevolent creature who usually acts as a peacemaker, typically getting involved in conflicts only to restore or maintain the natural balance of the Earth, not just going and fighting monsters or humans out of animalistic instincts of survival. It's very important to retain that part of Mothra's story, I hope they don't just make her a giant radioactive butterfly or whatever who goes around destroying shit, I hope I'm wrong but I feel like that's something they would do.
100percentgamer I doubt that. With how much Toho loved the 2014 movie, I doubt anyone would want to piss them off with the sequel. I'm believing (and hoping) Legendary will tread carefully.
My thoughts the same, Mothra is the peacekeeper of kaiju. She fights to protect peace, kind to all life on Planet Earth. Unlike Godzilla who destroys out of anger.
Mothra also keeps the balance of nature well, like Godzilla and other Earth Guardians
This might be the best version of mothra’s theme
"Hail for the Queen Mothra" This Song is epic, thanks for the Upload!!
When I heard this playing in the new movie I was freaking out and I had to come back to listen to this one

The fact that Mothra was hinted in the 2014 Godzilla movie was awesome. The part where the son and father were looking through the old house you see a name on the mothraium. "Mothra"

Mothra is my favorite Kaiju. When I was a child, this was the only song I would listen to. All hail Mothra, Queen of the Monsters!🦋

I mean Mothra HAS been traditionally immortal, or something like that.
I.E. reincarnation
I’m getting back into Godzilla because of the new movie, I ended up listening to the original theme. I remembered watching this a lot as a kid because of the 2000s Mothra movies, so I decided to rewatch this. I loved this just as one I first listened to it.
4 years old, but my son knows the songs down to earth. Russia loves Mothra.🇷🇺
Please bring back memories of when I was a child.
No matter how powerful her opponent is, no matter how big they are, mothra will never back down from defending earth and humanity until the job gets done. If Godzilla, Godzilla Jr. , or King Kong aren’t around to protect earth and lead the titans. Then it’ll all be down to mothra to lead the titans a peaceful life, making sure earth is well protected, and protect the title of being crowned the alpha/ queen of the monsters/ titans and doing the will of avenging the deaths and fight for the honors and sacrifices made by Godzilla, his son, and King Kong who protected their homes from planetary threats.
Mothra will always be and forever known as “Queen of the monsters.”
The key to Mothra's power is that she galvanizes others to join the battle by sacrificing herself out of her selfless love for others. In word the power of Mothra is the power of love -- that is why she is the best monster to me.
I don’t know a whole ton about this franchise, but I love Mothra so much. She’s so fluffy and she has the most enormous eyes and cute wings, and she goes float float. And she has a 60s Jpop group as her personal attendants!
