About the final scene - the duet with his father in Roual Albert Hall - perhaps I can help: It never happened. He only thanked his mom at the end of the concert. It was his first major concert after cleaning himself up at rehab and he was really skinny. He said something like Mom, it’s your son singing. So adding his father singing with him was 1) a reconciliation with his father; and 2) giving his father a chance to have his lifelong dream fulfilled.
