I remember last spring how paralyzed your felt Art. You’ve kept stepping forward. The rental house and you quitting the traditional J O B have made such a difference in y’all’s life!! And you won’t have to move the food around the barn anymore!!! 😍
Wow, Kim, when you said that I felt it viscerally. He really was paralyzed and just feeling his way forward step by step getting out of it. I know that paralysis. Good on you Art. It's a different season of your life now.
Watching that recap was a treat. Not only did you build a strong and sturdy root cellar, you built a memory those children will talk about for years ahead. You didn't need to build that wonderful arch, but you are not only a craftsman, but an artist. Beauty comes in many places you never expect it. And the kids?...dear Grace has knowledge of someone 3 times her age, Joyful...she lives her name exultantly. The boys are learning skills that will allow them to not only help you, but each other, in good times and bad down the road of their lives. It is a privilege to be able to see your story unfold. Thank you for sharing it with us. 💕
Beautifully said! What an amazing family, so skilled... and all the memories they have forever documented on film for all their kids and grandkids to watch in the future, amazing! And, truly, Art is very artistic, so his name really suits him! I'm in art and design myself and what he did using the old brick over the arch and repurposed barn wood is stunning!
One day my grandkids & I happily pulled away from an ice cream shop and the lady was soo nice who took our order. My granddaughter age about 12 said “ nana that lady takes a lot of pride in her work!” I was so touched that she could express that thought so we talked about it❣️ I see soo much pride and love in Art’s. Work! Stories to be told in this lifetime and later through the children! Amazing piece of work!!
That was amazing Art. Poured concrete for over 20 years and I know mixing all that concrete for the footers and wall took forever. Great job, you’re truly a skilled and hard working father and husband.
I love the root cellar.. I loved watching you and kids build the root cellar. I’m so excited for you about the twins. God is really blessing you and your family. I look forward to you videos so much. Keep um coming.
Art you have done a wonderful job! So did the kids! Bri must be thrilled! Making good memories with the kids will stay with them through their lives. They have learned a lot more than you think in helping with this build. Not only have they learned from you, but so did I. I have to knock a hole in a cinderblock wall and had no idea how to start it - now I do! Thank you!
This project has been the most satisfying to watch your family build. My list of ideas to do in my future homestead keeps growing. God bless your family 🙏🏿🙌🏽
Wow, what an amazing job you did! You must feel so proud. Also, the fact that all the kids helped makes it extra special. Well done. I can't wait to see what you do with the house!
I watched this as you built it! Very impressive how quickly it came together. Amazing things happen when the whole family pitches in to accomplish a goal! I cant wait to see it full of food….
Art, I have watched this daily, but this summary footage points out all of the physically hard work and ingenuity you have used. With this accomplished, you have a perfect right to be proud - and the kids, too.
Awesome! Not many can take this kind of project on, these days. Your skills, ability, talent and willingness to let the whole family take part, earns my respect sir.
I watched every step along the way, but it was very exciting to see it in timelapse! Thanks for your dedication in sharing your lives. You all epitomize the meaning of family! Love you and God bless you.
Now this is what I call reality TV! I'm continually inspired by you all. May God continue to bless your sweet family. I cannot wait to see the inside of the root cellar. Side note, loved the editing, loved seeing each of the kids...but C'MON! I was looking forward to Wilder telling you he liked the hole you dug! He said it in such a sweet, motivational way. As if to say "good job daddy!". 😂😂😂
I wish i would have had this technology when i was growing up. I can see my dad on the oil rig (he was a heck of a oil rig driller). your children are growing up in an age of wonder that most people take for granted. Great video and great work by everyone. You are truly blessed. Love and peace
Oh my...I just remembered the awesome root cellar that my great grandfather built (had built I’m guessing). It was an arched concrete structure with a wide opening stairs going down. It was unfortunately a ruin when I was a kid but we played in it!
That was nice. I loved the part where Wilder edged over to the roof with the paint brush loaded with waterproofing. Too bad we didn't hear him saying he was painting it for you. The root cellar looks great. Good job.
When seeing it bit by bit as you did it, I thought you and the kids did an amazing job but in seeing it in time lapse and remembering the delays you faced it is actually a 20 day epic build (with no cement mixer). Congratulations and a thumbs up for sharing your knowledge with the kids and teaching them the enjoyment and value of work.
Enjoyed watching you guys build your root cellar. The time lapse was awesome as well. May your family be Bless with a great harvest every year to fill it.
This was such a great build. You should be very proud of yourself & your children. I can't wait to see what you do in the house. I know it's going to be beautiful.
This is SO very inspiring! Thank you for taking the extra time/effort/stress of recording it so the rest of us could learn from you! Adding the camera to every single moment of your day is no small thing. 💓
What a great job. You thought of everything. Kids will enjoy the root cellar after you guys have gone that’s how good it is. I had a root cellar that worked great when I was a hippie. Store your carrots in sand they stay great.
Love watching you and kids working hard to get things done Great job all and what a blessing you have a Root Cellar now to store your precious Harvest This fall 👍👍❤️ What a Gift eh Bri 💝 and by the way you look sooo Beautiful with that Babes Bump 🥰 God Blessed 👍❤️ AGAIN
wow, usually timelapses makes things look easy, but this one looked like lots of sweat and hard work, saying this with all my respect to everyone involved. Also, great editing and music!!
Such a fun video to watch. What's next???? A house!! Or an outdoor patio in the garden for Bri and the babies. UH!! With an outdoor brick fireplace and everything :D
I love this. When your kids grow up they will have this video of them building a root cellar with their Dad, what a precious blessing and memory to cherish forever 🧡
Art, your second oldest daughter (I can't for the life of me remember her name)....she deserves kudos for all the help she gave you on this project. She's a hard worker, you should be proud!
She's Joy or Joyful. I'm glad you brought it up. They all helped but I noticed she was there a lot. But when she wasn't she was probably watching kids.
Some years ago when we were traveling in WV I noticed all the "Can Houses" that were in the yards. I love that you are creating such a useful and traditional structure. Very inspiring! I wonder how deep I'd have to go to build it in garden zone 5A? Can hardly wait to see it fitted out.
Firstly, Art you’re an absolutely amazing husband/father!! The patience you had with the children, during the building of this, was commendable👏🏼 you had such a caring and nurturing way with them, teaching and allowing them to get in on, helping with little things here and there, was beautiful! Forgive me for forgetting the young lady’s name here but, your older daughter helping you, she’s going to be quite the match for a lad when it comes to dating especially when she has the role model like you! He best be careful 😂she’s a force to be reckoned with! Thank you for sharing your project with us and congratulations on a fantastic job!
You worked hard and did an amazing job designing and building a beautiful root cellar, with character! Your precious kids were stellar helpers. Good job!
You are a hard working family, that takes the time to do things correctly. Everyone of you love and support each other, way more than the average families. Please, get help to finish the house before the twins arrive. I, hope, you take some time to have fun! Videos of the family fishing, swimming, camping,.... would be so enjoyable to watch! You don't want to look back and wonder, did I spend enough time? Can't wait to see more!
I love the food castle that you & your young ones built. Special place for the kids & a great storage area for your food. Especially like the happy look on Art’s face. Job well done sir, job well done.
Art and Bre...your children are so helpful. Can't wait to see the next project. Love to all and pat the tummy where your twins are happily growing.lkve and Hugs.
Loved the way it turned out. Everyone in the family worked on it. Hope they are proud of themselves. Years down the road they will look back and have great memories helping you.
I can imagine the twins watching this and seeing what the family was doing for them while they were growing. What a fabulous timeless gift.
How are you doing 😊😊😊

Art, I'll bet you were a curious kid and your dad loved it. It's been so interesting and fun watching this whole process. Thanks for this video too!
