Thanks Gaby for sharing with us this fascinating insight into your early life in Middlesborough. Yes there is something strangely compelling about revisiting old haunts but I find nostalgia is a strange beast. I usually get a feeling of dread when passing old schools from childhood! Great to see Casper enjoying the stick game. Bless him!
Lots of memories there Gaby I love visiting where I grew up, but my childhood home hasn't been looked after very well since I left it, & now the area has gone very rough so I don't really want to see it anymore it makes me feel sad😢 It's always emotional going back to seeing places of your past. I think it gets more nostalgic as the years go by!

Hi Gaby, I have just had a Eye operation last Thursday so unfortunately I may not be able to watch your live stream tomorrow morning Plus i could still be in bed at about that time!! You know what we are like when it comes to beds and sleeping!! I am recovering but it is still healing I have to have a check up to see how it is in about 12 days or so. Finally I hope you enjoy your live stream tomorrow morning and sorry I am unable to come. Ps DO YOU HAVE A EMAIL ADDRESS AT ALL GABY ? PLEASE LET ME KNOW Thanks Ryan
Brilliant! 🎉 we watch your channels from here in NZ giving us great ideas of places to visit and showing us the places we miss. Couldn’t believe that you once lived in the boro, then found it incredibly coincidental that your Mum was married in the same church we were, you went to the same school as me, my younger sisters, and my sons, that you lived in Lancaster road too, and to top it off your Mum went to the same school as me. By the way it was the convent first then they made it into Newlands school and then a few years ago they knocked it down and built the school you were stood outside of! No wonder your Mum didn’t recognise it 😂. Thanks for such a great video, glad you enjoyed Stewart Park.

You did the right thing refusing to go to school. It pigeonholes you. I wanted to be a hairdresser, but because I followed the accepted route and passed the 11 plus, my father demanded that I went down the academic route. I ended up very unhappily working in a bank. You prove that you don't have to attend school to be intelligent, because you certainly are.
I totally agree! Lol I absolutely hated it! I’m not intelligent lol but I’m certainly doing what I wanted to do. It’s never to late if you wanna do hairdressing I’m sure you’d be great xx
Hello Gaby & Mum 😊Its great to look back. I did that myself a while ago here in Glasgow. My primary school is still there but my secondary school got pulled down. I was lucky tho to have a school reunion in 2000 before it disappeared. I was the same Catholic school. My mum made me go to school I hated it and I never knew then but I have Dyslexia. Back then if you didn't catch up you just got left out, well I did. I got the strap or belt once for laughing 🙄
Awww so cruel back in those days.. you actually got punished because they were unaware of dyslexia… I think I’d of got the belt everyday if I went to school then x
Great vlog Gaby! Bet you were all having flash back looking at your school, make you wonder what it looks like inside, also the house as well. I went to a special needs school, as I have Asperger's and was at a school with people with learning disabilities. I had some fun times at that school and not so good times, as I used to get bully a lot, as I loved singing and dancing and used to do a impression of Hannah Montana. I take no notices of them bullys, had other kind freinds who I got along with, pretty much I was the best student in school. I used to play pooh sticks, as well. I remember when I was a kid and my grandparents took me out for the day, we play pooh sticks and I remember a lady saying to my Nan what are you doing? She said we playing pooh sticks and she never heard of it before.
