I loved this game!! I forgot about it completely, One of those games that got bad reviews and I still loved. The same thing seems to happen with movies as well. I love love that Anger Management movie with Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson! It was hilarious but the reviews were bad. Here's a line from the movie. You'd wake up to the sounds of women and chidden screaming. Adam Sandler: Ah Vietnam huh? Nah man, Grenada. Adam Sandler: Grenada? Wasn't that like 24 hours... hahaha! Great movie my whole family loves, but for some reason not the best reviews.
Can't really expect something banging from bunch of white-collars smartasses sitting on their office with brand new furnitures they didn't know what aesthetic and just pick because it's looks cool in the middle of Paris, man.
I like this story and I like this game. The view of the hood culture of Los Angeles from the eyes of a French person have never been so accurate in my life. 10 out of 10.
This was one of my first PS2 games ever back in 2005/6. Had a blast playing through it with my older cousin. We used to play double player often wherein my DualShock would control the weapons and his the driving. Absolutely insane watching this so many years later on YT doc.
That sounds like it would’ve been epic! I remember unlocking him in True Crime Streets of La and playing as him in def jam fight for ny. Since Dr Dre is already on GTA V, I think snoop dogg should make an open world version of the def jam fighting series.
Dude I was DEVASTATED when they announced the game had been cancelled. I believe it was titled: Fear & Respect - and had a decision based game style where you could choose to execute or spare certain people, which would affect your "fear" or "respect" meters appropriately. ALSO, they had JOHN SINGLETON directing and overseeing the game, dialogue, etc. Based in L.A and man it looked like it was going to be an amazing game. I am honestly still depressed it never got finished.
You want a good gangster game, hit up that Scarface: The World Is Yours, OR the OG Godfather game, that was surprisingly fun. I'll still play both today and have as much fun as I did when I was little

When Ubisoft kept ignoring Splinter Cell(one of my favorite video game series of all time), we all knew there was a problem. They're gonna milk the Tom Clancy name for all its worth, unfortunately. Considering Tom passed a decade ago, I don't see why people keep buying the games. We all know they don't have Tom's stamp on them anymore.
I've recently discovered your channel and man, it's like a trip down an obscure alley on memory lane. So many of these games, including this one, are ones my older brother and I would rent from the local Movie Gallery and binge over the 5 day rental period. I'm absolutely loving it. I remember "187", I actually beaten that game ...the combat races was fun but as you get the story plot ending the races get real repetitive & hard. It had its own identity. I wouldn't compare it to "Twisted Metal" but picture "Road Rage (PS2) meets "Carmegeddon". This game been out for quite some time, but for those who haven't beaten it I won't spoil the end. I will say the end wasn't what I expected.......Well, in conclusion, this game was fun at the time, the music was dope, the characters was cool & the story wasn't bad. thank you for making this video!! i’ve been trying to remember the name of this game. i played the hell out of it as a kid and you have saved my headache.
@@jaxsonharper9091 i mean both have a realistic take on the mario kart kind of perks with a more realistic look rather then twisted metal being all about killing others.
I had this on ps2 and I could beat the second to last level. It was a parking garage level where you had to take out enemies but the last floor had a dude that just one shot you with an RPG it was so trash to be cheesed like that.
Played through this game back in 2016 and had fun with it. Its not terribly deep but itll give you plenty of entertainment for the $10 you spend. Plus theres all the unintentionally hilarious dialogue during the cutscenes and loading screens.
I had this game as a kid. Even loved that Guerilla black helped make the soundtrack and pleased that got a role on the game too 🙌 this game will forever be an underated race game 💯
I played this back in the days and quite recently for my UA-cam. It's very unique and quite fun, but it's very long/stretched, and the last boss is just way too hard compared to the levels.
This is one of those, "There was a legit idea here, and I can respect that," kind of game where yes... I had fun playing it because not many other games hit the kind of niches this game does. How many other "Gangster Mario Kart" games are out there with quasi-turret based pickup systems? One of those, "This game deserves a sequel without the industry bullshit weighing it down," sort of things. Brink hit a similar deal for me where I can clearly see the good game under all of it, and I kinda want to see what happens if there was time to polish it and keep the crud from getting all over it in the first place.
as a ps2 game collector I was on the fence on adding this game to my collection ... but the theme and especially the execution of it... I can't man. They easily could've gone the xtreme sportz style where every vehicle is represented by an out there character; ssx, downhill domination, freekstyle, tony hawk's downhill jam, twisted metal, freestyle metal x, def jam, bmx xxx, blood drive, (i can go on for days) and the game would've been better for it. gta sa for example pulls the gangsta theme off bcs it has something to tell/show and does it perfectly. also, rubberbanding is the worst.
Ps2 era is still the greatese era in gaming, because of how experimental the games where back then, today only indie games do that, triple A just focus on the same boring formula, over and over.
Ah old gangsta classics ... Reminds me of the time i played with my neighbors this game on co op and def jam fight for NY .. and icon.. god def jam icon was sooo bad 😂😂😂
I loved this game story sucked but there was just something about how the cars handled Just clicked with me. I’m not good at racing games so being able to use the guns and kill everyone in front of me give me the edge I need it to peel all the wigs back
