If I was doing this after your first step with HCL, I would remove the HCL and wash with water water 3 or 4 times, this removes the Solder, more importantly the Tin. Great work
@@rednose900 Yea its expensive in United States, well Nitric is, HCL and Sulphuric is cheap. He has said acids are very cheap in his country, I just hate dealing with Tin, i usually do a warm HCL bath twice rinsing with warm water after bith tumes to be sure I get most if not all Tin, lead isnt a big issue which can be dropped in AR with 2ml of sulfuric. If im dealing with really old stuff I bath it 3 times in HCL. They used a lot more solder back in the 60s and 50s

Please don’t let the fumes go into the air put a wet towel or cloth over the reaction and fumes will be absorbed . Rinse out cloth in water and reuse on next job dry cloth out and reuse until it disintegrates. Fumes can kill other forms of life many unseen.
I seriously doubt the final result is real. 0.3% procentage i got from military pins, from memory ram, ide, etc, can get maximum 0.1,so less then 0.4g from 400g material.

If you use incremental dose of nitric acid then you don’t need to use urea.

Before drying my gold I would heat in HCL, than Water, some people use other chemicals but I dry after that, in the sun or on the hot plate very low
