one aspect of realms of chaos campaign I really enjoyed were the giant empires if you turned off the portals with a mod and played as a chaos faction you'd see these absolutely enormous empires in cathay and Kislev because the ai would both have insane cheats as well as expand very aggressively on its own so you can have real wars with multiple armies it was actually very fun to fight a large empire of almost 100 settlements, but in immortal empires that just doesn't happen, even tho the latest patch did move the needle in the right direction, I want it go further I want to see ai Tyrion consolidate all of ulthuan by turn 30 again I want to have a massive war between continent sized empires again
Yeah but I remember when a lot of people were pissed about AI factions consolidated like crazy in WH2. But to me fighting large AI Empires is much better experience than out of nowhere crisis invasions
@@maciek.u honestly I wish there was a setting to make different regions go different ways like 'tyrion consolidates ulthuan' that would make tyrion ai stronger and more aggressive while making other high elf factions more willing to confederate with him
@@dairewoods2544 wow I didn't realize they just straight up couldn't do that any longer, I just thought they tended to be unable to ever develop good enough relations to make use of it
I played it a little bit and honestly prefer CA's IE map and even the WH1 old world map. Two major problems I had with the map were that the space between settlements was much larger, meaning I had to spend multiple turns travelling, and use of the underway was much more difficult when it came to jumping between mountain passes because the mountains were so huge compared to base game it wasn't possible to underway underneath them. This meant that when I played Karak Kadrin and Ungrim I had to march everywhere for multiple turns and basically that meant it was quite boring and Dwarfs felt even more neutered. In CA's map, a battle every turn is possible in most areas of the map. At most you'll be out of action for 1 turn unless you're trying to avoid battle. Two problems I had: Teclis is surrounded by enemies but cannot quickly take out one of them without leaving himself exposed, so maybe some questionable placement of factions is there. The other problem I had was if you do expand getting back to defend while you can only afford 1 army is so regularly impossible that you are incentivised to disband your entire army and rebuild it where you need to defend, just so you can survive. Other than that, not all factions are playable as far as I could tell. I ran the Mixu mod and this mod only, turned off all other mods, and not all LLs were playable from each race, and unlike what is claimed, playing as minor factions wasn't possible. Maybe some other people have different experiences but that is mine.
That's only really an issue early game, once you get to mid/late game and have multiple armies you'll realize what kind of tactical and strategic changes this forces you to make. To be sure there will be turns where you aren't fighting a battle and you do need to play different on defense and offense.
Quests I'd recommend getting a mod that gives you quest rewards automatically when you reach a certain level, as for mechanics they work just fine from what I have seen.
@@Prushinthespirit Tears? Ha ha ha, ok, calm down, buddy. I wouldn’t care if they made that map. I just probably wouldn’t play it. wouldn’t have much content anyway. Cathay’s inclusion is why the IE map is so scrunched up and congested, so a map without it, on this scale would be amazing.
@@djn6962 sure, blame fantasy chinese for everything, just like IRL. The map is compressed because of them, and definitely not because CA have been f&cking up regional proportions since game 1. Only for the sake of Empire aka the the most boring region on the map, to remain somewhat vast looking.

Not every map needs the entire world if there are players more interested in older, classic warhammer content… Just take a few deep breaths and relax. It’s not that serious.

@@rogofos I wholeheartedly agree. Being able to tweak sandbox to your liking is always great
I think the main thing that took this away was removing the AI ability to confederate

I'd love it if CA made some options for Immortal Empires. I mean we can choose a separate Old World or New World map with Ulthuan (like in WH2)
