UK Weather Forecast: Torrential Rain Moving Up From The South Tonight (Saturday 7th September 2024)

- Good morning everyone and welcome to todays UK weather forecast on Saturday 7th September 2024.
Current Situation: A thundery area of low pressure will be moving northwards from the south bringing torrential rain and thunder with it tonight...
Today:
Saturday begins mostly dry but there are some showers in the south and south west. The best of the clear spells are in central and northern regions. It's a very warm and humid start.
Through the rest of the day most central and northern regions will stay dry with sunny spells but southern regions will have more cloud and some showers at times.
It will be a very warm day away from the south with temperatures of 20C to 24C though southern counties will be cooler at 17C to 19C.
Tonight:
Torrential rain with possible thunderstorms will push northwards across England and Wales giving localized flooding in places. Scotland and Northern Ireland should stay mostly dry with clear spells and variable cloud. It will be another warm and humid night with temperatures of 12C to 18C.
Tomorrow:
Heavy, thundery rain will continue all day for parts of southern England, Wales and northern England while the Midlands and some eastern counties have scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms after a wet start.
The rain will reach southeastern Scotland by evening but the rest of Scotland and Northern Ireland should stay mostly dry with sunny spells. Temperatures will be generally cooler at 13C to 21C.
Outlook:
Monday: Overnight rain clearing away then mostly dry with sunny spells and scattered showers. Cool.
Tuesday: Wet and windy weather spreading southwards. Colder in the north.
Wednesday: Sunny spells and heavy showers. A cold northerly wind.

@@pauljames5281 I just cannot believe how quick the forecast can flip and by then I had cast my die. I should have just cut them last sat ignored the forecast and dealt with it. We have had less than 5mm all week but the grain moisture hasn’t been below 19 all week. It’s just been pea soup crap so we cannot harvest
