Respect to Winky D, massive LIVE session. But according to me He is the King of Dancehall in his world and not in our world. I challenge him to at least participate in 1 Riddim produced by other Zimbabwean great producers, a riddim that includes everybody else (our best artists) . Yes, his music sounds like Zimdancehall but I do not recognized it. Greatness has to be tested. I know and fully acknowledge that he is great but I will be more convinced if that greatness is evaluated on the same level with all other artists whom I have heard, seen, played and embraced. His sudden appearance after 12 months should not be used a standard to evaluate what Zimdancehall is. This greatness is based on a narrative. Its tactical prowess narrative that he created where he comes on and erase the efforts and dedication all Zimdancehall Artists all over Zimbabwe. That is his strength which I humbly respect him for. But, we should not erase the talent, the creativity of all other artists based on that narrative. It will be reckless to crown him the King of Dancehall. Such actions automatically mean all Zimbabwean Zimdancehall artists are just nothing. I do not believe that and I will not be part of such reckless behavior. Greatness itself is a narrative that comes with greatness itself. Lets test the greatness on an equal footing. If Baba Harare and Jah Prayzah can come from their genres and ride on a Zimdancehall riddim. Why can't he do that. At least 1 riddim. These are rules of dancehall music. I believe that for an artist to be called or labelled a dancehall artist, he/she must participate in the riddims produced produced within the region/area/country such artist operates in. Its a simple, achievable request. The Zimbabwean dancehall fraternity need that respect, I demand that respect. I wish to see that respect. Zimbabwe has many Zimdancehall artists whom I know can test this greatness becoz they have proved it, they have done it before and they are doing it right now.
@@Potrij KKKK. your reply is exactly what I was expecting. I am happy to know that my arguments can never be understood by those who don't understand what dancehall stands stands for and what is dancehall. That's why I said in his world which includes you in this world. I am bit disappointed because I am actually expecting much backlash. Read my comment carefully word by word and try to understand it. You will realize that my comment do not even express any emotional sentiment or hate towards the Artist or the persona of Winky D. I probably Support Winky D more than you if you read again what I said. Did you know that in 2022 alone I played Winky D LIVE on radio more than 50 times, hence I contributed to his annual overall Income. What have you done for Winky D besides worshiping him?. I am more important to Winky D as compared to you. Sorry to say but that is fact. Makesure this its sticks with you, carry that fact with you everywhere you go.
It's the vibe, it's hot, people had a fantastic night. It's what live shows are about, capturing the audience and having them eat out of your palms. Big up Gaffa!!!
