It is a beautiful hook . I went on Etsy, some beautiful hooks . For the price, I don't want to sand it before using . I expect attention to the small details in a luxury hook . Thanks for the review.
Yeah, I agree. I am not in the business of making hooks so I shouldn’t have to do their job I am paying them for lol. It does happen though, I am glad it came and intact to boot!
@@PurpleTulipCrochet-BonnieBelle I keep a fine grit nail buffing block by my bed. That way IF I had to smooth the hook, I know I’m not messing it up. I to have received a few slightly unfinished hooks from Furls. But that happened before they changed where they are made.
Interesting hook. I think if I were going to try a new hook I would try the Ophire hook since I like the deeper hook. I am new to your channel and been going back to see old videos. Really enjoying the reviews. Today I could hear you just find, but sometimes I have to raise the volume extra high and the commercials are so loud. Maybe it is just me and my old ears. I love your reviews and yes I can and do at times use the close caption.
Thank you so much, Denise! 😊 This company also sells on Amazon but the reviews aren't great there either, mostly concentrating on breaking easily. It's disappointing that the size doesn't match the other available hooks. Makes me wonder if their hooks measure bigger across the board or just this mold size. It also makes me wonder if the production is outsourced and the quality control needs to be brought up as an issue. Do you feel like the hook is truly resin or it has some plastic mixed in? The color is adorable, though. Do you feel like the lip of the head is just as sharp as Furls? I struggle with my one Furls because of that. Hopefully , Daiz will see this review make some improvements. -Lilia 😊
I think the lip goes out further than Furls and isn’t as long. It makes the head of the hook wider, at least mine. I do feel like they almost have it down, but not quite yet. I plan on leaving them a detailed review on Etsy but I have not as of yet. I’m not really informed about resin and the different qualities of it. I do feel like Ommi and Divit Shilp and other solid hooks without any clear in them feel way different to me than the ones even from Ophire that have speckles and what not in them. The turquoise hook from Ophire feels much different to me than the diamond hooks but I can’t really explain that well. Does any of this make sense to you or am I just babbling? lol
Knitter’s Pride makes Knit Pro. So they are the same company. The neck of your hooks should be the same gauge and this gauge is measured with the middle of the neck, not where it starts from the throat. In this case you should be using the middle of the neck to place the yarn before finishing the stitch. Your DAIZ is the correct size. Now what you’ll want to check is: given the knowledge I just gave you, measure the Omni’s and Ophire again. I’ll email you a picture of where you should be measuring. I sent you the pics and explanations to your instagram account
@@liliasawyer7145 depending on the hook, resins increase after the stop point Denise shows in her video. This is the point where the hook increases in diameter as it gets to the handle. When the hook is tapered it starts to slowly from the head and down the neck (where your yarn loops sit) the size the hook is supposed to be. and You crochet makes may not come out consistently because if the size changes. This of course is different for everyone because we all crochet and yarn over differently. Metal hooks that do not increase in size toward the hand (so not a Metal Furls hook, but Susan Bates, Boye, Tulip etc), show clearly how much room you have, usually about 1.2 inches from the head to where the thumb rest starts. HTH ☺

I have quite a few Daiz hooks and like them a lot. Furls and ophire are definitely nicer but I think it's better than ommi and divit shilp. 😊
And I'll add, I've had some furls that have needed some sanding
Yeah it does happen. No one and nothing is perfect ❤️

Thanks for watching!! I am slowly getting use to being a bit louder, it isn’t you.
Great job on the crochet hook review. I have some of the Furls hooks but not the other ones.
Thank you 😊 Do you just like the resin Furls, or all?

I thought there were all but identical! Thank you for the info, I am going to pin your comment! ❤️
How far down the neck do you measure? 1/2 cm? I was always under the impression that yarn should go about 1cm past the throat.
