This mod along with : Volumetric fog Flying Crows Dark trees of Skyrim Skyrim at War Vivid weathers (to lower the contrast and saturation) Basically make the game this depressing battlefield where the lines about people being sad at the death and destruction all around them finally make sense.
@@ladygrey7425 I've always used NordwarUA's armor and weapon repalcers. But in some ways they are more rennaissance than medieval. I've used the helm mod from Vaultman, might give the one you're suggesting a try too.
Probably my favourite alt-soundtrack for Skyrim. Always find myself coming back to listen to 'Threatening Matters'. It's rare that anyone can hold a candle to Jeremy Soule but you did a fantastic job.
This is by far, and without a shadow of doubt, the best music overhaul for skyrim. It's like the best aspects of the best soundtracks from dragon age, the elder scrolls, the witcher and conan all rolled into one, and it suits skyrim perfectly! I can't get enough of it, it's absolutely fantastic!
Phyrgian Lutes was incredible. Had a very dark and hopeless theme. Almost like you’re on horseback trudging through the aftermath of a huge battle and corpses are everywhere, rivers flow red, and the sky is blood red.
HIGHLY underrated soundtrack mod. Music is a major part of my life and while I love the original OST this is the exact type of music I liked to perform in High School. Well done on every front.
This here is a major staple in my load order The dark abd eerie feeling in each track made me rethink skyrim as a land like no other Most of the tracks gave me severe chills down my spine
I just want to say that this is my absolute favourite mod that I have installed. I come back to this beautiful soundtrack again and again to enjoy, thank you so much for making something so unforgettable and epic ❤❤❤
This music overhaul is my favorite! I love using it with darker fantasy playthroughs, and can honestly just chill and listen to it outside of Skyrim. Thank you for sharing with the community.
ooh, I'm glad I stumbled across this, getting ready for a new modded playthrough, and this really is a mood-setter! Custom made, Good quality, 6 bloody hours, Cohesive mood, yet distinct tracks.. Sheesh.. impressive stuff.. must have taken a ton of time to make. Hats off, seriously!
I recently played the Glenmoril mod with the replacer version of your mod; there are scenes where your Apocrypha track plays and it really added to the eerie, unsettling atmosphere of Glenmoril. You have done an excellent job with this mod.
Came across this mod on xbox. I didn't have enough room to download, so I came here to listen. I for sure am freeing up room. This music is wonderful! Seriously great job!
das ist mit Abstand das beste Musik Overhaul für skyrim, generell hat seit Jeremy Soul niemand mehr geschafft das ich wegen der Mukke beim zocken Gänsehaut bekomme. bis Umbra und Evening sorrows lief
Cold Breeze perfectly encapsolates the feeling of a cold and harsh world of Skyrim. A county at war with itself, buildings once inhabited by great warriors and leaders now in crumbling to ruins, despair of those who've ran away from their destroyed country and you wandering the roads amidst the end of the world.
@@Nyghttones The whole tracklist is perfectly balanced between nihilistic realism and optimistic fantasy. In comparison to Yggdrasil, where the audio overhaul feels like it's always holding you against the throat (not necessarily bad depending on your play style), this gives me a moment to both enjoy the peace in the wilderness and the dark reality that we live in. Happy to be born in a time where I can witness all of this!
If I HAD to pick between this and the original Skyrim soundtrack, I would definitely pick this. Probably one of my favourite soundtracks in gaming, period.
This is absolutely phenomenal. Thank you so much for this music. Great alternative soundtrack and also just a perfect playlist for SFF reading or just relaxing. Beautiful. Again, thank you.
I really like the mod, it's a work of art, but I would really like to have a version of it that only changes the combat songs, because the vanilla scenery songs are very good and nostalgic, since the combat songs of this mod are the most beautiful and best I've ever heard in a mod, makes the battles look like a movie. I would love for you to do this for the xbox one. forgive my bad english
I absolutely love the track named Ritual. Nordic, strong, hard hitting. I downloaded the mod, and that amazing track played during a large barfight. If you could post the song seperate from the mix it would be much appreciated ❤
I will definitly be using this in the future. Unfortunately due to its outrageous size i will probably have to wait until I get my PC in order to use it ,theres no way this will fit in my xbox LO. But, beautiful work. I dont wamt to invalidate Jermey Souls work by any means. But i have to say this fits skyrim more than the original soundtrack in my opinion. And since im going to be playing more horror or dark fantasy like nordic style game, this soundtrack fits it perfectly. Im greived i cant use it yet lol.
Thank you for the words! And yes, i am aware that the size of this mod might not be attractive for Xbox players. It is however possible to further reduce the filesize by reducing the bitrate for the xwm files (which greatly reduces the audio quality tho). I've always used the highest bitrate possible, cause i'm a big audiophile haha. But since the last update added a lot more tracks, i think it's about time i added a lower bitrate version.
I'm gonna be doin a modded playthrough of a character who becomes the "Tribrid" (totally not a Legacies fanfic lol), effectively being the DOvahkiin, a Lycanthrope, and a Vampire, and they will seek to take over the world.
There are a few steps to it, and it would be too long for a UA-cam comment lol. But the short version is: convert the audio file of "Devious" to an .xwm file (you will need a programm like the "Yakitori Audio Converter") then rename that file to "mus_maintheme.xwm" and inside your game folder you will have to put it in the following directory: Skyrim Special Edition/data/music/special (or create the folders if they dont exist and then it will play as you main theme.
Maybe something like "Respite"? Btw just downloaded the mod, i was listening to some tracks and to be honest i heard "Devious" and i immediately downloaded. It's simply amazing
@@N7Ronin That's cool, it also seems to fit with the Nyghtfall aesthetic. I was thinking about it and thought, "Night before battle"? Perhaps, "Wind over the tavern" because of the flute in the song?
It's crazy how you can make skyrim feel like a whole new game with just music alone
That's the beauty of art
This mod along with :
Volumetric fog

Dark trees of Skyrim
Skyrim at War

Basically make the game this depressing battlefield where the lines about people being sad at the death and destruction all around them finally make sense.
If possible use Bjorn ENB: Dark Ages! Chef’s kiss 🤌
Also Vaultman30s Armor and Weapons replacer. Makes it feel historically authentic and grim.

bit late here, but could you link skyrim at war? cant find it on the nexus

I also hear some influences from the Game of Thrones soundtrack in there, which is based
This music is absolutely fantastic. Skyrim doesn't feel right without it

THE BEST ALT SKYRIM SOUNDTRACK EVER!!! plz add to spotify!!!
This here is a major staple in my load order

I LOVE "You've chosen the wrong path". So epic.
This is a permanent mod in my playthroughs. I absolutely love this!
Devious is such a fantastic track, i love this pack
This sounds perfect for a wandering vampire playthrough..
*Installing Skyrim*
yeah thats exactly what i did, i also used that heart breaker mod where you can rip out someones heart
I just want to say that this is my absolute favourite mod that I have installed. I come back to this beautiful soundtrack again and again to enjoy, thank you so much for making something so unforgettable and epic ❤❤❤
Dang, "Threatening Matters" really feels like an Alduin vs. The Last Dragonborn soundtrack. So epic.
I think " Dragonfire" sounds abit more fitting to that last battle than that. But i suppose thats personal opinion too.
Nyghttones's battle tracks are always great - all of them! 'Sharp blades' is also an excellent one.. and 'Never should have come here' - my favorite
Ive been using this for most of my SKyrim playthrough, absolutely love it. Episode 6 i made has a lot of this music in it, thank you so much!
I had an old version, i'm impressed with the evolution of the mod :)
This music overhaul is my favorite! I love using it with darker fantasy playthroughs, and can honestly just chill and listen to it outside of Skyrim. Thank you for sharing with the community.
Very strong The Witcher 3 vibes. Well done

I don't understand why no one talks about the masterpiece of "Never Shoud've Come Here". Powerful, dynamic and stunningly beautiful.

Fuck Bethesda for limiting your storage in that way. It's a shame.

From what I understand, it's more of a Microsoft issue, but I get how you feel. I'm just glad we get mods at all.

This sinister track brooo you're hitting every neuron in my visual and sound cortex with this one
1:32:23 man this song is so damn good, blew my mind when i first heard it in my skyrim game
Combat music in this mod is just absolute perfection and a highlight personally
I am downloading the mod as I am listening to this sound track. It is amazing, this mod's sound track sounds like a AAA game ost.
thank you for that. its taking tes5 on the very high level, cant imagine playing without it now.
Soo many great songs but Bloodseeker is my absolute favorite! 😭🖤
Hope to see the songs some day on spotify

This soundtrack is amazing. It fits right in with Skyrim, and I like adding it to the original music. I especially like the Folk Tale track.
There are 3 things I like in games :
Snow, Beautiful water, Good music. Your pack perfectly fits to Skyrim, man.
This is just INSANE quality. Definitly my favorite soundtrack.
Listening to this at work. I'm in love with it.
Ritual is channeling some serious kings & creatures vibes :D
Oh this is AMAZING! I've always loved the Skyrim soundtrack, but this is even cooler!! I'm definitely gonna have to use this

Just downloaded the mod and this is the best music replacer for Skyrim imo
Beautiful music as ever!! 😀
Absolutely epic work
:)
Drunken Bards is such a vibe
Devious is by far my favorite, I loved the vocals.
I was a staunch supporter of evilbluekoala's Additional Music Projet but you had me completely baffled. This is my new music mod.
Cavern really makes you feel hopeless and dreadful I had to remind myself I was playing skyrim while this was playing with elfx hardcore

Dark fantasy music and “ You picked a bad time to get lost, friend “

Лучший музыкальный мод !
Excellent as aways nighttones
This is amazing
I love all the different tracks and how they fit perfectly into the game. Is the last track, Respite, in its own video somewhere? It's my favorite
How can i set "Devious" as my Skyrim main menu theme? Oh my gods, its SO GREAT.
