So as far as village support, my siblings are having children the same time as me which has helped me a lot! We have traded resources and given each other examples of how to do things (e.g. potty training.) Financially things are still stressful and there is a big gaping hole where grandparent support should be. My grandparents were right down the street from us and babysat us while my mom could earn a part time second income. Now my parents live in a high income neighborhood 30+ minutes away and still care about their careers too much to take time off from it. They keep offering help but I feel lost on that, they seem to want to be “Disneyland” grandparents without any heavy responsibilities and I don’t need help from that honestly.
There’s nothing more annoying than parents who act like they’re the first person to ever be a parent. Billions of people have done it - yes it’s hard work, but it’s work you CHOSE, so just do it and stop acting like it’s some groundbreaking thing.
It doesn’t mean they were well prepared or even have the means or life circumstances that could alleviate some of the stress. Need to find some empathy inside you.
Well said points. Especially about the next generation and what issues they will bring up. I also liked the fact that parenting was like breathing before and now it's something cerebral. A bit too cerebral tbh. Instincts are gone now.

Parenting?!$. Take a time out and breath deeply, chill, do what you want, give your self a KitKat, give your self a Break!$
