Thank F-ing GOD! I was so stressed over drilling the hole in my brand new countertops and could not fine the standard hole size anywhere. 1 3/8" it is. THANK YOU!
thanks for the tip brother!! As for the plug, I seen a few updates where they put a momentary button for their garage disposal. I haven't tried but thought that was interesting..
I actually just did this on my quartz countertop. I drilled a bigger hole on another piece of quartz and i used that as a guide with some water. I believe 3/4 plywood would work aswell.
To make your existing holes a bit bigger do not drill through the existing holes!!! Instead use a billing bit with a side grinder to shave of the diameter of the hole and make it bigger.
Or, as I saw in another UA-cam video, use a block of wood underneath, or perhaps on top, to guide the pilot drill so that you can drill a bigger hole over the existing hole.
@@SpookySZNing it would have to be a diamond file and it would take so long that I can’t imagine anyone doing it that way. Need grinder drill or die grinder bit with diamonds to grind it bigger.
I´m going to replace my current countertop with a quartz one, do I need an extra hole for the dishwasher? I'm also replacing the dishwasher and garbage disposal. The current set up has a 3 holes one for the faucet, one for the sprayer and one for the thing connected to the dishwasher (I don't know what that thing is called). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Helpppppp. I drilled 1 3/8 hole for the soap dispenser, but its it show a tiny bit of the hole on the side when i had it tighten with the nut and a bit tilt. Seems like water can get down under. Do i need to use that kind of putty or is there a recommended washer i can use to make it more flush fit?
The soap dispenser should be able to cover that hole. They usually have a much wider base. If it comes with a washer i would use it. If not you could go with stain free plumbers putty or clear silicone.
It was a very chill thanks giving. Smoked some rib and did some sledding. Had a great day with just wife and the kids. How was your Thanksgiving Steve?
My quarts was put on top of my sink and the drilled the hole but was not lined up with the sink hole, now my faucet moves around and I can't Tighten it up its hitting 2? I'll call them edges. What do I do? To fix it
For the most part everything will fit in 1 3/8 hole. This contractor must not have had one. That seems to be pretty standard for drilling the counter. Your right thought company’s could standardize better though. Thank you
The Mensajor brand 16 gauge stainless steel sink I bought only has a one inch hole for a soap dispenser and of course, the air gap kits on the market are all a bigger diameter of 1 3/16! not keen on trying to make the damned hole larger. Maybe use one of those steeped drill bits?
It's fiberglass, and yes I did it this morning. I cut a piece of wood the size of the 1" hole and stuck it on the drillbit so the it has something to "bite" and then made the hole bigger with a 1 3/8 hole saw.
Just drill that hole bigger. I’m drilling through a top today that was very hard to drill and trying to line up with a hole in the stainless steel sink rim. I have another to drill tomorrow and there’s no hole in the stainless. I’m gonna have to drill the hard arse counter from the top and then drill the stainless from below with hot s Shards of stainless falling in my face 🤬. You just had to enlarge the hole size. Easy peezzy.
You can get expander bits to widen existing holes. He is giving bad advice. Some reverse osmosis systems support a maximum of a 1.25 inch hole and 1 3/8 inch would be too big in that case.
So helpful! Thanks for the video!
Your welcome! This is great to know if you want something else in there at some point!
Your cat was just making sure that all your fittings were secured and that you weren't cutting any corners. LOL

Your welcome. Glad this could help you out.
Hi , thx for the video😊.. what if the hole in my vanity is too large of a hole for the faucet I pick ? Anything I can do for that?
Thx a bunch

Got the new house. Ordering cabinets next week. Trying to figure out what countertops to buy. Thanks for the 1 3/8” tip.
That is awesome! Excited for you guys! I love a fixer upper!
thanks for the tip brother!! As for the plug, I seen a few updates where they put a momentary button for their garage disposal. I haven't tried but thought that was interesting..
I have installed those buttons before. They are pretty slick. Thank you.

another great tip Brian!! Hope all is well with you and family!
Thank you Sandy. We are all doing well over here. I hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving.

Right on. I was just checking them out. Pretty sweet. Thank you
Correct. Why go thru the trouble right? Just grind 'er out. Get a small (3/8 or so) dremel grinding bit and use cordless drill.
Would a tile file work also?
Or, as I saw in another UA-cam video, use a block of wood underneath, or perhaps on top, to guide the pilot drill so that you can drill a bigger hole over the existing hole.

But my RO system calls for a 1/2" hole for the faucet.. is there some way I can make that faucet work on a 1 3/8" hole?
Found the solution. It's called a "locating washer" and is capable of centering the faucet designed for the 1/2" hole in a 1 3/8" hole
Awesome tips brother. Thank you for the video. Hope you and your family had a great thanksgiving

I'm just fallowing up on somebody's elses work and I have to fix a new faucet but need to install now but I don't have the PO and I'm stuck waiting 🤦

Send a picture of the under side I will need to see it. Ufix247@gmail.com. I would love to try and help you out.
Thank you so much for the video. Helps alot......
Thanks for the tips Brian! This information is so helpful!
You are very welcome. This will coming in handy when you get a new kitchen 😉
Uh oh! Look like another COVID cut! And thanks for the helpful tip.
Lol! I was starting to feel a bit shaggy! At least shops are open now!
Do you have anymore That fix it guy hats?
Not yet unfortunately. I am gauging interest and saving money to to purchase some though. I’m thinking sometime next year. Thank you for asking!
Aahhhhh, people starting to ask for the merch!!
I know! I'm kinda nervous. I've been talking with Josh about it. Maybe next year.
Makes more sense to me if they would standardize the size so all the attachments fit the same instead of having a bunch of stupid different sizes.

What if the hole is too big and the accessory is too loose? How do I fit that?
What kind of accessory are you putting in? Do you know what size hole it is?
@@ThatFixItGuy Filter, so it’s smaller
It looks smaller than an inch
The water filter should have came with a escutcheon to cover the hole.
Hey Brian thanks for the great tips I like the wrench. I hope your back continues to improve 👍
Thank you Britt. It has been doing a bit better everyday! Fingers crossed that it keeps getting better! Those wrench’s are pretty sweet!
Just fyi. This hole size is for a reverse osmosis water filter faucet and not for the soap dispenser.
Hows your back doing buddy?
I feel like it is getting better. I have good days and bad days. I can at least walk longer than 10 minutes without having to set down now.
@@ThatFixItGuy progress is progress, hang in there my man. Maybe next time @Stoney Ridge Farmer won't work you so hard on the farm!
LOL! I'm going to razz him about this a bit! "Rumor on UA-cam is you worked me so hard you broke my back Stoney Ridge Farmer!"
Im still waiting for the fix part.
A cock hole cover was the answer.
Why didn’t you drill out the hole to 1 3/8” ?
They wanted a fast no mess solution. That was the first thing I mentioned.
@@ThatFixItGuy They’ll probably call you after they realize they now want a dispenser installed!

Yes I really like using step bits to cut stainless steel sinks. Will make the job easy for you.
@@ThatFixItGuy The stepped drill bit worked a treat so thanks for the advice.
The idiots who installed the tub on my house made a hole of 1" instead of 1 3/8" and now I can't install a new faucet after our old one broke.
Yep! It is all in the details and this is a big one to me. What material is in the counter? Are you going to drill yourself?
It's fiberglass, and yes I did it this morning. I cut a piece of wood the size of the 1" hole and stuck it on the drillbit so the it has something to "bite" and then made the hole bigger with a 1 3/8 hole saw.
Ok cool. I’m glad you were able to hook that up!
So fun how American electrical work always looks super shoddy
Lol! Especially in my house!

I would have they just did not want to. It always sucks when those holes don’t get done right. Hope it all went well for you.
😂😂cat a plumer too😅
Why just not drill a bigger hole
That didn’t heko
What is heko?
I meant to say that didn’t help
