La voix de Dupuy est si émouvante ; nous avions là une des plus grandes mezzo rossiniennes du monde. Ce fut un âge d’or : Blake, Merrit, Cuberli, Anderson Caballé et Ramey !!!!

Peccato che l'aria di Idreno "dov'è il cimento " venga così spesso tagliata! Capisco che si tratti di un brano molto difficile, ma saltarlo a pie' pari significa dare poco peso alla parte del tenore, che è già parecchio ridotta in quest'opera, e trasmettere il messaggio che "forse" il cantante in questione non è in grado di eseguirla!!😮😮😮
At times during Bel raggio, sounds like Caballè and the conductor were miles apart. Her acuti are mediocre. The roulades, fiato and intrinsic beauty of her voice are unique to MC of course.
But what happened to the text? Instead of saying "Il bel momento", she says something like " e...i....a....o...." ! Not any consonant remains.
@@brunopicaude3092 Agree. Madame C was an exceptional singer and very “ creative” when it came to the text. On the other hand, what a memory to sing everything she did!
One of the most boring opera ever.
I've never understood how people can put themselves through three hours of that. 😅
(And here Caballe had begun her looong decline, with those shrill cackles of cartoonish diva caricature, already far too present.)
