Not much of this "replica" relevant to any year of Yamaha production road racers (that use R5 crankcases).. more like a RD cafe racer with downgraded front brake.
All large Yamaha twins (road and track) up to Banshee are based on the R5 crankcases.. early TZs even had R5 and DS7 motor numbers. Any of the series' crankcases can be used to build a TZ motor, though LC cases seem to be the preference.
The TR3 was a very competitive production racer. I've seen them race many times.
The RD350 was introduced in 1973 and ran through 1975 before becoming the RD400 in 1976
r5 first...tr 3 was based on r 5
Beautiful looking bike.
beautiful bikes! subbed
Made this engine for many years
I know lets play some crap music when he starts the engine.
Where did you buy the tank and tail piece /seat? I'm doing the exact same replica build. Frame, engine parts, barrels, Akront alloy rims tc from eBay
Fun fact: 350 barrels and pistons fit straint onto a 250 bottom end. (1977 was fun on L plates)

What are the differences between a YDS7 crankcase and a TZ, can a YDS7 bottom end support TZ parts
