My best session of Trenches was not a battle but an all out *war* it raged on for 26 days our side was a maze of trenches and barbed wire The reason the war went on as long as it did was due to the fact the central flag had one BIG natural problem … The map had generated some ‘swamp’ EXTRA wide and the flag was in the middle for those who crossed it did not return… My role in all this was a mine sweeper sniper and occasional tank operator I flanked on the sides to infiltrate enemy lines and disarmed any mines I found to clear the way for my brothers It truly was the war to end all wars.

Probably my favorite experience from this game was while I got into a server on the desert map with exactly 3 people. We made peace for 3 days and spent all of this time for building defenses. People started joining at day 4 and after that it was a regular battle, however my game crashed after a day.
Here is my exciting story: Day 1 We prepared for the long war. With constant charges, it was a hard day, and 250 people were killed with no progress being made. Night 1 to night 3: We (the red team) pushed them back out if the first flag about 3 times in this 2 day period, but were pushed back each time. By now around 700 people had died. Day 4: The first tanks arrived, with our enemy using them a lot more than us. However, through use of infantry we were able to destroy most of them with grenades. All through the day and night, we slowly pushed them back. By the time they had 1 flag left, over 900 deaths had been recorded. Day 5: The bloodiest day in the history of our nation. The enemy decided to make a final stand at the last flag. Throughout the day we launched wave after wave, making little to no progress. We were almost pushed back to the next flag after they launched a massive counter-attack with their tanks. But as day 5 came to a close, we finally managed to take their last flag. Over 500 people were killed in that day alone.
Private: um, sir wouldn't a better idea be storming the trenches at night where visibility is low? Officer: I mean you're the one dying here & 300 others not me, why should i care if this is basically suicide? Private: Can we atleast run? Officer: No, ONLY MARCH, SLOWLY.
Fun Fact: If you hide in the leaves of those short trees, your name literally cannot be seen. I've used it many times to just camp enemy spawns and they don't know where I am until one of them finally realizes. (The longest I've stayed as a Vietcong was for like 2 days)

I wish public games could be this coordinated. Whenever I try to rally other players to charge at once they just cower in the trenches or even when a bunch of enemies get killed by an artillery blast I see that as the perfect opportunity to charge but everyone else is too afraid. And then there's those people that stay at the back of the map just building massive trench systems that we don't even end up using half the time. Edit: I also forgot to mention how people don't understand how trenches work. YOU DON'T DIG STRAIGHT TRENCHES THAT LEAVES YOU MORE EXPOSED AND IT DEFEATS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THEM.
I just played the game and your right everyone does stack back near the hills and in the end, you just lose a flag. Also a tip, Build wooden planks on the trenches that go down so that any fire at the trenched won't do damage
You should see me making infiltration trenches then. Helps with expediting group funneling. AND not many would expect it. It's the art of REPURPOSING trenchlines, to be precise.

I’m surprised Tank Fish finished this game in under 10 days. I had a battle that lasted over 22, more than 2 hours of trench warfare. The map was full of trenches, barbwire and artillery explosions every 5 seconds. My team was on the backfoot the whole game yet we somehow won.

Note: there were battles between Germany and Japan, where the latter seized the former's Pacific colonies. Jungle Trench Warfare isn't entirely implausible...just very niche.
Japanese during WWII used trenches in Okinawa , Iwo Jima , ETC , to give their soldiers cover while the Americans land on the pacific beaches, and kept using trenches further in the lands, thus causing them to makes some trenches in the jungles of the islands.

Every side of the war used trenches, as they are effective cover, and dirt cheap.

I wish public games could be this coordinated. Whenever I try to rally other players to charge at once they just cower in the trenches or even when a bunch of enemies get killed by an artillery blast I see that as the perfect opportunity to charge but everyone else is too afraid.
And then there's those people that stay at the back of the map just building massive trench systems that we don't even end up using half the time.
Edit: I also forgot to mention how people don't understand how trenches work. YOU DON'T DIG STRAIGHT TRENCHES THAT LEAVES YOU MORE EXPOSED AND IT DEFEATS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THEM.
And sometimes you just have those teams that just steamroll the enemy and dont even bother with trenches

I just played the game and your right everyone does stack back near the hills and in the end, you just lose a flag. Also a tip, Build wooden planks on the trenches that go down so that any fire at the trenched won't do damage
You should see me making infiltration trenches then. Helps with expediting group funneling. AND not many would expect it. It's the art of REPURPOSING trenchlines, to be precise.

I’m surprised Tank Fish finished this game in under 10 days. I had a battle that lasted over 22, more than 2 hours of trench warfare. The map was full of trenches, barbwire and artillery explosions every 5 seconds. My team was on the backfoot the whole game yet we somehow won.
