Unbelievable. Just stumbled upon this game on ps store and it was free. Expected nothing and holy …! What a amazing rpg! This is crazy! Other game developers watch and learn please. Many many kuddos to the makers of this game.
I needed to set timers for myself whenever I decide to play. And I need at least one productive thing done before I earn 20 minutes playing time. Otherwise, you know what will happen.
The story in this game is actually amazing, it's a shame you wrote it off as a basic trope-y anime story. It might seem that way at the start because you're suppoused to be lulled in by the safe and familiar anime themes but it soon becomes obvious there's something much deeper going on. And just based on the story and lore we have right now I can tell the team behind Genshin Impact has something amazing planned for us and I can't wait to experience it
No, he mentioned RPG cliché, and the game is filled with it. Which does not mean that it is a shame to love it, but within the world of RPG games there are games with much less cliché story than this game.
I have not loved a game in so long as much as I love genshin. I’m so happy that it’s a FREE game, which is insane considering how amazingly content packed it is
2 accounts both are F2P. First 200+ hours, compleate story that is currently in the game almost compleated spiral abyss levels with no 5 star character. Second account 80+ hours, compleated Mondstadt, pulled Venti and Jean and i just keep going.
@@windliger1068 True. I got mona. But tbh I think she may be more useful since fischl is my main, with electro+knights and dragoms I instakill everything.
@@Duck1187 I like the plot too but I mostly dig the worldbuilding and lore of teyvat. By the way, I think he was referring to Mihoyo as a company that usually delivers depressing stories especially in their game, Honkai Impact. Not saying it's a bad aspect but pretty much get ready for the feels
There other game Honkai Impact 3 had character costumes added at a later date Genshin has a skin system in place already currently only used for gliders but I can see them later down the line adding costumes for sale.
i play this for about 2 hours per day and i'm adventure rank 20. i've only done 7 story missions because i keep finding new things to explore, it's really fun.
I mean I guess the story does have a lot of anime clichés and gets very side tracked from the main plot but I personally really like it. It's great how much it highlights each region and the playable characters. There are characters that I only started playing after their story quests made me interested in them. Also the way it drops off a lot of hints but never gives anything big away makes the theorizing at this early stage of the game so much fun.
I scrolled through the PS Store because I was bored, I saw this for free, downloaded, and never looked back, I was completely shocked, it's amazing, and better than most AAA games nowadays
this game for being F2P is amazing and sets the bar in terms of quality and design for future F2P games. The biggest danger i find is with it's monization. The game gives you this message of look we are a full game and you love this style of gameplay, so you the player will try and 'support' this game by giving it your money. The biggest problem lies with the lootbox system of play, by the end you will probably have sheet out 100's of dollars into the game but the dopamine effect is long gone and only a shell remains and you keep spending with the excuses that you're supporting the devs.
Aaand if you take a look at the lore of Teyvat, you can also see how much potential the story still has. True, it started off quite mildy, but the First Chapter (Liyue) was already much better, if you ask me at least. Plus we've got at least six more countries to go through. Looking at Honkai Impact 3rd, the story definetely WILL turn better, and Mikan believes (little Paimon talking in third person reference) it's going to be incredible
I'm one of the free players.. the game is really enjoyable without spending any money.. yes it's harder on some challenge when you're a free player but it's still "completeable".. you didn't have to spend any to enjoy this beautiful game ❤️
The thing i love most about this game is that even though some characters are much better than others, you can still get huge amounts of value out of the "weaker" characters. For example, Bennett is seen as a diluc wannabe. However, with the right positioning and ability placement, he can easily become the best support dps in the game. Its things like that that really make the game immersive and fresh.
@@hanhan005_5 I mean power wise. Compare Traveller with Venti, Venti is clearly stronger, but with the right playstyle, ttaveller can still be extremely powerful
@@KAvanAlten What literary genre are you talking about? The hero monomyth? You can go back to Gilgamesh and the Odyssey. As someone who has done a 100% playthrough of Breath of the Wild, Genshin is more than just a gacha clone of the game. It’s an open world experience just like Breath of the Wild and a breathtaking one at that. The game doesn’t feel restrictive with its gacha elements at all and doesn’t affect normal gameplay, even when you play for free. Here are some problems that I encountered from the game: I was adventurer rank 8, I haven't unlocked the new main story missions yet, so I had to do the side quest, but the thing is I couldn't progress the side quest because the mission requires me to have a specific character that I don't have. So what I did was I had to wish for a character just to progress through the game again. When fighting a flying boss with only a melee party is difficult and will take forever, it's not like you can just change your party while on a fight either. When you're in a story, it's possible to see a character that you are playing as on the story, which just breaks the immersion.
@@heliusxx8626 Rank 8 is right after the first chapter of main mission. You will only have 2 characters, unless you get lucky and get an elemental character that you really want on the wish.

The story in this game is actually amazing, it's a shame you wrote it off as a basic trope-y anime story. It might seem that way at the start because you're suppoused to be lulled in by the safe and familiar anime themes but it soon becomes obvious there's something much deeper going on. And just based on the story and lore we have right now I can tell the team behind Genshin Impact has something amazing planned for us and I can't wait to experience it

this game for being F2P is amazing and sets the bar in terms of quality and design for future F2P games.
Yeah kinda risky but its all about luck you cannot argue that
Aaand if you take a look at the lore of Teyvat, you can also see how much potential the story still has.

Some characters are much better than others? U mean Every character are actually unique?

@@KAvanAlten What literary genre are you talking about? The hero monomyth? You can go back to Gilgamesh and the Odyssey. Lord of the Rings as 'party adventure' can find origins in Germanic stories and myths (ie: Beowulf, Der Ring des Nibelungen, etc) -- All RPG tropes are as old as storytelling. Even if you mean RPG, ala D&D - the similarities between a tabletop pen and paper RPG and the typical video game RPG are kinda thin.
The games are similar but they have vastly different focuses as open world titles. Genshin’s unique qualities make it enough to feel like it’s own identity with its elemental combat, cultural representation, community focus, and so much more.
