I love your lessons Jeff. keep up the good work. Thanks also for saving our lives from Indian accent network lessons on youtube :D Not to be against them of course. but to me its hard to follow their tone for long hours of study.

Thanks Jeff, Yeah I wouldn't agree with Dell switch comment either. OS10 and OS6 product lines are amazing. I can't imagine how they converted Debian based linux in to such an amazing network operating system and the cli is very much industry standard. Recently did EVPN deployment(all over cli) on Dell switches and very much impressed with it. Now Sonic is also available on Dell switches so yeah welcome to the open switching world.

True, Dell has improved substantially. The experience I was relaying was the pre-F10 acquisition switches, which is certainly dated at this point. I appreciate the updated take on it!

How to size vsmart? On how many routers 1 vsmart will work? is it depend on the license we take?

I always recommend going through your Cisco rep or partner for licensing questions, but generally speaking it should be 2000 vEdges per vSmart, plus you'd want to deploy redundancy. Hopefully that's a good starting point!

Dear Jeff, in your experience designing and implementing networks that you could advise me regarding the following scenario, in the company we have a metroethernet with a provider x and it is dark fiber and I have more than 80 to 100 nodes with them at 100Mbps and 1Gbps, and then a provider Y appears to offer me MPLS on the same nodes at the same price but only offer me 100Mbps Links, my question is whether it is worth changing the entire technology park or not ; how i should i approach it

Hi Ruben! MPLS and Dark Fiber are very different technologies. Dark fiber exists at L1, meaning you have to deploy your own optics and you can form L2 adjacencies. MPLS is at L3, meaning the handoff medium can vary, but ultimately it's a L3 boundary. MPLS tends to have better reach and accessibility, which is why it is so popular. Dark Fiber has more limited reach, but you can control the speed of the links and don't need to worry about sharing routes with a service provider.
I would recommend you seek out a technology consulting firm to review the details and discuss what makes the most sense for your situation. All the best with this project!

I use a Wacom Cintiq 22. It's getting a bit old, but it has held up well over the years!
