We live in a villa in Milano and our power went out for about 30 seconds during Milton. We're between Laurel Rd. and Border Rd. We've got a power sub station nearby and the new Sarasota Memorial Hospital is just up the road, a couple of miles, so we might be on the same grid as the hospital. We are truly blessed.
Venice Woodlands power was out for 48 hours. We are not on the firehouse and hospital line. Milano was fine and didn't lose power. You raised a great point there.
This is my second experience up close to a hurricane. The leaves on the trees are shredded from sustained winds. More than half are gone and what stays on are damaged and turn brown. They will regrow quite quickly. It’s really amazing to see how nature regrows.
Born and raised here 53 yrs I've seen the housing cycle a few times. I feel like this one coming is gonna be the biggest correction we've ever seen. I live off Laurel rd and the amount of houses and apartments about to hit the market in Sarasota and Charlotte County are incredible. On top of that I'm hearing a lot of patients and staff I work with saying they're putting a for sale sign up as soon as the repairs are done.
@@gcmfskg Florida is definitely going to be the next California with property values. Investors will end up purchasing homes to tear them down and then rebuild better homes with huge price tags and people will come here and pay it.
Report from Venice Woodlands: minor damage in new construction community. Several soffits ripped off, few roofing concrete flat tiles dislodged, pool cage screen damage. Many trees uprooted and wind burned foliage, now bursting forth with fresh new leaves.
@@jelafean I wish we knew. We will have to wait and see. New construction is always going to be easier to get homeowners insurance on though and the most affordable.
If you live in Lakehouse Cove how do you find your house? The shelters all look alike. I expect you use GPS and put the house number on the exterior wall in 14 inch numbers.
Great info , so are you saying if you don’t build a. Custom home , the other builders will poor when wet ? There’s no inspection on the pre poor and after slab is down ? So if you buy devosta or Lennar there will be a problem? Thanks for video !!!
@@jamesjacoby1738 it depends on the community but most communities allow a rod iron fence. To be honest those privacy fences were all down from the storm as well. They are not hurricane proof.
All the big investors are selling i know that work in my firm, I'm waiting for the pull back to normal prices then buy.😅 Run off systems in Florida are terrible.

Most communities do restrict fences and many other restrictions not to your liking.

Why don't include the avg insurance, property tax and HOA costs.
Because it varies from property to property and while I love to give my clients an “average” cost I cannot do it because I am not an insurance broker.
