  • An amazing place to visit. Quiet and relaxing and full of history.
A Bulgarian tourist attraction that is very popular with the locals too.
Planted in southern Bulgaria south of the former capital, Sofia, there is spiritual peace and clean mountain air to enjoy as you wander around this holy place.

13:06-13:08 this is patriarh evtimii the last patriarh of the second bulgarian empire and the leader of the defence of the capital tarnovo,he was captured by the turks and when they prepare to decapitate him the hand of the soldier dry in the air and they got spooked and refuse to kill him but send him i think in this monastery, the year was 1393 a.d. the fall of tarnovo tzardom and vidin tzardom fell 3 years later cause the state was separate in three parts and many more smaller feodals thats why we fell under ottoman rule after 50 years of constant war and plague that kill half of the population......later the turks said that bulgarians had the strongest fortresses and put the hardest resistence......by default all our neighbours were and still are our enemies, mainly serbia and byzantenes and they fought us constantly or payed some tribes to attack us and thats why the balkans fell cause we fought all the time between eachother and the turks took advantage of that.....later in the balkan war 1912 we almost single handetly expell the ottomans from the peninsula forever and bulgaria was called prussia of the balkans cause we never lost a battle since 1878 up today and never had a lost flag, while we captured flags from britain, france, russia, serbia, turkey, romania, greece, italy and more, even after the fall of adrianopol 1912 japaneese and more military specialists came to explore how we took the fortress, cause the german engineer that build it said that two german armies have to occupie it for 6 months in order to conquer it ,while we took it for three days fight and now the operation is studied in many military academies arround the world.....i hope you liked the history lecture😃godbless

It is wonderful to have your comment and the information. Mariana, being Bulgarian, has tried to teach me so much about the amazing history and I have tried to research as much as is possible in the time available. This information is very welcome. Thank you and may God bless you too.
