GD saw the direction that MAMA and the rest of the Kpop industry was going. I think there’s a reason he’s not so involved with other idols now. He doesn’t like where the genre or industry is sitting at. The artistry has been lost in Kpop honestly, everything is about sales or numbers or streams, everyone is trying to see what next promotion they can do so that they can get more attention, tiktok dances galore. Fan wars in the comments below show exactly why so many Kpop idols from the earlier generations are becoming detached. This isnt the same genre that it was 10 years ago, and that’s not in terms of music, but instead almost like the music has evolved while the communities have devolved
