I have to disagree, because when a famous perfume creator like Quentin Bisch collaborates with Lataffa. I'm purchasing it because he’s one the best!!!

I adore Angelique Noire and Babycat! Guidance I completely get the hate on because I lowkey hate it up close but I still reach for it on occasion cuz the sillage is intoxicating. Some popular ones I wouldn’t buy are Bianco Latte, Hibiscus Mahajad, Burberry Goddess and Her Elixir. I’ve decided I wouldn’t buy Blanche Bête because I don’t even reach for my decant with my favs around but I’d accept it as a gift hehe ✨

I started off my collection with middle eastern & the biggest lesson that I learned early into my journey was that I would NEVER be satisfied with the M.E. dupes. I absolutely had to have the originals. I hated the weird alcohol or super sharp smells. When I buy perfume, I wanna wear it immediately, not later, after it macerates😶 Now Im obsessed with my collection of loves❤

I absolutely ADORE Angelique Noire! She is one of my 2 signature fragrances, the other is Mizensir For Your Love. That angelica, pink pepper, and vanilla just excites my senses and works very well with my body chemistry. I'm definitely a member of the Angelique Noire following 😂😂😂

This needed to be said about the viral Amazon middle eastern fragrances👏🏽. They are hyped because they are dupes of popular fragrances.
Yeah the irony is no one in the Middle East wears them lol The dupe makers have em bamboozled.
I do enjoy a Saudi brand I found at their Canadian store near me Abdul Samad Al Qurashi (ASQ) and they are not cheapies - about the equivalent as niche brands. And good quality oud is not cheap.

For those who don't want to waste money buying fragrances that don't last long enough compared to the price, middle Eastern dupes are the way to go. They're killing it right now and I'm here for it.

I have another 13 and I love it! But I can definitely understand where you are coming from, because the scent reminds you of something and you don’t like that reminder. So, I am much more aware of how wearing certain fragrances during certain periods of time Will always be etched in my memory. 12:10
I got my hands on a 5 ml decant of Guidance. I sprayed one spray and was instantly traumatized. 😳😩. I gave it one more shot and it’s an absolute no for me. It reminds me of Raid. I just got my hands on a La Capitale decant. I’m still “dating” it. I don’t hate it but I don’t know if I love it either 🤔. I just decluttered all but 4 of my Middle Eastern fragrances. I had 17. I just couldn’t. That synthetic smell that permeates almost all of them is a no for me. I didn’t care for Angelique Noire or Tobacco Honey either. I do own and enjoy the first Cloud and Another 13. As for Babycat, she’s BAE ❤❤❤. I was absolutely intoxicated at first spray. 🥰

Ok I just got into the middle eastern fragrances now that I have more than 20 of the niche/designer fragrances that I love and must have. For me there’s fragrances that I like but not enough to drop $100-400 on them. I might be willing to get a decant at most if it’s inexpensive. This is where the middle eastern stuff comes in for me. Buy the dupe to have and that’s good enough for me. Now to my surprise… so far they’ve been great blind buys, especially that Angel Share one, I found it to be closer to apple Brandy than AS . Those 2 Killian ones I didn’t love just like, the Lataffa Dupe, I’m in love with! So for $30 totally worth it. I’m picky about who I take middle eastern suggestions from since it’s blind buy. Paulina is that girl when it comes to those lol! I don’t like that La Capital either . It smells weird. I have 2 Others from them in my collection. You can’t tell me nothing about Dama Bianca or Erba Pura lol

I’m in my inexpensive Middle Eastern buying phase. So far, I like Lattafa’s Sakeena and Bade’e Al Oud Sublime. I don’t know if they’re dupes for something else. All I know is that I like them.

I still don’t feel the need to get every one people recommend! I don’t understand how Guidance could be a highly complimented scent. It didn’t really work for me, i would’ve had to force it and I’m not about that lol. I want to love my scent from the opening to the dry down also!! Ariana Grande anythingggg lol. It’s the bottles. Refreshing to hear similar opinions. Guidance required some serious guidance to scrub off the skin when I sampled it. I gave two 7ml samples to my daughter and can enjoy it on her if not in an enclosed space but it gives me serious nose fatigue. My girl also owns Ariana Grande Cloud and while pleasant, it smells nothing like the gorgeous BR540 to my nose. Always on point AI!

Always spot on. I regrettably own Guidance, Angelique Noire, and Tobacco Honey and NEVER wear them for the exact same reasons you mention - Guidance is a mess on my skin and actually makes me nauseous. I have Ani which is better and more long lasting than Angelique Noire. Tobacco Honey I love...in theory. But Babycat I adore - comforting, rich, baseline fragrance great for layering and giving depth to other vanillas and gourmands. I think people sometimes forget that fragrance is art. Not everyone is going to be moved by everything, nor should they if the artist (perfumer) actually has a point of view. And, admittedly, some artists are more skilled than others. Wear what you love and what loves you back without apology. There are more than enough scents out there for folks to find what aligns with their body chemistry, mood, stylo, vibe and leave the rest. Thank you for this fun and informative take.
I tell you I love Dior's Tobacco COLOR but not on me. I bought it and then sold it. But one thing I will say is that you have made me obsessed with LV's Attrape-Rêves. And then I ended up getting LV's Pacific Chill, RHAPSODY, and Coeur Battant. Looking at the notes I never would have bought Attrape-Rêves but when I took that first sniff I was hooked.

I kept thinking that I’ve smelled guidance before and I finally figured it out. It smells like Sand and Sable perfume from my childhood. That was my mom’s friend’s favorite perfume. The only difference is that guidance has a hot cat note in it. Guidance Stinks to high heavens, whether in the bottle or on skin.

OMG, I TOTALLY agree with you!!! I think Amouage Guidance is a STONK that should never be allowed in enclosed spaces. Tobacco Honey is nice, but not for me. I just can't get onboard with Angelique Noire, even though I want to! I LOVE Guerlain, it's my favourite house but I don't love all their perfumes equally. I agree that the green note is somehow too sharp and too cloying. And as for Babycat - same! I LOVE vanilla scents, but that smelt to me like some kind of nasty burning rubber - which isn't an opinion I've heard elsewhere. Le Labo Santal 33 is also a no-go. Must just be my nose! PLUS, I LOVE Spiritueuse Double Vanille (one of my favourites - just started on my second bottle).

When I bought a 10 ml of guidance I didn’t like it but I didn’t hate it. I sprayed it inside the pages of my work notebook and ended up selling it. It’s been at least 4 months and my notebook still stinks! 😂 I gag a little every time I open it at work.

Some fragrances i wouldn't buy would have to be oud bouquet,oud satin mood,shalimar and all flankers,montale intense cafe,xerjoff erba pura,tom ford black orchid,lancome la vie est belle ,dolce and gabanna the only one,bdk tabac rose,mugler alien and initio oud for greatness.plus the ones you mentioned. 😮😊

I think the name of baby cat is also misunderstood by many - the name is paying homage to the animal pattern print (wild cats) used in runway fashion over the decades. Not an actual baby cat lol. The promo images hint at that but i do think the brand could have done a better job at translating it or marketing it. Maybe calling it wild cat would have been more well received 🤷🏻♀️ but it got people curious and talking so maybe it worked just fine. Ha ha

Al capital is my favorite perfume. It’s insane 💓 if it doesn’t work for you Mula mula is similar but sweeter that la capital.

I feel the same way about guidance! I tried it twice and it was a major NO. Disappeared after 30 minutes. No compliments. Just blahhhhhh. Doesn’t mix with my chemistry. I will say at first spray it is nice. Wish it worked for me.
