If Roy had left well enough alone at 4:00, he might have won, but no, he had to go one step further and ensure that someone (normally lanolin) would screw up his prank, I mean what is her problem, did she not just do a song about how Orson gets too into his books and scares the hell out of everyone? All Roys prank would do is teach him not to believe everything he reads.

Well I think it has a lot to do with cartoon shows changing things as the seasons go on. Many TV shows hire different writers to to maintain a certain continuity. I always find it a bit strange at times too.
