This performance and Steve Earle's "Ft. Worth Blues" is the reason I sought out the man, Townes, himself. I consider Towne's the best American folk writer to date. Better than Dylan I say...

I agree that this is a nice version. The two versions are so different. Eric definitely has a passionate take on the tune. Townes version is kinda hard to play on guitar I think. Not diffiuclt chords, just hard to get the same feel. Well, that's my thoughts.

i know this is probably considered blasphemous in texas...and eric woud not appreciate me saying so..but eric does townes better than townes!!
