It's it either use it with or without. If you subscribe, it's the cheapest in the market and very expandable. The customer service is top notch. I got issues before on some sensors and got replaced without any issues.

@@ProductsForMen I had the doorbell hardwired for the last year, along with one spotlight cam in my backyard and a cam in my kitchen, but just installed the security system with window/door sensors the other day...and smoke co and freeze sensor the in my basement. I was second guessing myself after install. So thank you again for your review.
