ARTIC Soft Pack Cooler broken zipper - quick fix

UPDATE: Due to the ongoing challenges and failures with the zipper not zipping properly in other sections, I have since discarded this cooler and replaced it with a different brand. Its a shame that it was only used a few times, and resulted in these failures. I really liked the idea of this cooler, but given the number of troubles with the zipper along with the cost of this cooler, I am overall disappointed in the quality and design of this, and have since moved on. Hopefully this tip may help someone out in the future, or give them ideas or inspiration for a similar fix.
After having the zipper break and come apart a few times after just a few uses, ended up with a short term fix shown in this video. While not at all a perfect solution, I didn't see a better way to resolve it and this allows it to be realigned again in the future as I continued to battle issues with this zipper design.

Genius idea. Sometimes a fix is done and you're wondering why you didn't think of that. Way to go!

Great idea and easy fix. I cut a quarter inch slice on one side of the zipper to get it threaded back together. No carabineer or zip tie required

HUGE THANKS, I used a zip tie instead of a chain connector, but that was the idea I needed to fix my cooler!!

Ok this worked for me , but I think it can be done without cutting. Basically the zipper head has widened and needs to be smashed back down tighter . On my cooler the rear part of the zipper head needed to be smashed or tighter. I did this with pliers after taking the zipper off. The zipper is much tighter and no issues so far

Cut the bottom track carefully until I was able to fully latch the zipper. Thank you!

The problem I have and which many others have reported is that the vinyl overlay separates from the zipper, the zipper
Jumps the track and it will no longer zip. Any solution for that?
