The inner doors looks very old and i think they have been installed the same time as the R-series buttons, so this tells me this elevator has been modernized in the 70's or 80's - and not since. Maybe the original elevator is from the 40's or something and it probably had a manual gate in it before
It's a very nice elevator, I did not see a traveling cable beneath the cab however. I think this might be a winding drum elevator, because of the two hoist ropes on the counterweight, and being spaced out a considerable distance. Most traction elevators have between 4-6 hoist ropes, and are anchored to the counterweight in a bundle. Or spaced the same distance as the number of groves on the driven sheave on the traction machine., and then anchored.

Yes, the door was manually! The bay doors have been replaced!
But most of it is still original!
