@@WisdomPreserved It really is! I vacuum seal mason jars with our dehydrated items and a lot of our bulk spices, to name a few. I vacuum seal things like date paste as well for the freezer. Love it!
Hi there. I received my jar sealer about 6 weeks ago. I love it! I haven't tried it yet for jams etc. I will try one jar only as a test to see if it works, and how long it store. I was very frustrated with the Food Saver system. This is so easy to use!
Mine worked at first, but now the lid comes off with the unit. I am using it to keep my coffee fresh and have very little beans left; if the jar has only a little amount inside, could that be why it ain't creating a vacuum seal?
I just kind of wiggled it as I pushed it down over the jar. It was a little tight but not too bad. If you have too much trouble, maybe try a different jar.?
That's what I need to know. Mine came with large and small sealer rings that are supposed to be used. But no one is even mentioning those, nor demonstrating how to use them
Yes, the standard regular and wide mouth lids work perfectly. You can get replacement lids at your local canning supply store, or in our Amazon store. amzn.to/44LzfVp
The lids last a long time, but I cannot give you a specific time as the products you store in them or how many times you seal and reseal them could adjust the life of the lid. This is a great vacuum sealer, we love ours! Of note tho, I do let it run until it shuts off.
Oh I need one of those for sure. Thanks
Don't forget to use the link in the description below the post! Thanks
I love my Food Saver vacuum sealer and use the mason lid attachment all the time. Actually more than the bag vacuum & sealer.

It is such a good idea!

You are so welcome!!

We love it to. Just remember it doesn't replace using a water bath for canning jams.
@@WisdomPreserved: I thought it only worked on dry ingredients.
@@rainbocatz6376yes true but you can use it to keep fresh fruits and veggies in the fridge longer this way.
I love mine!
If you keep practicing with that vacuum jar sealer, pretty soon you won't have anything left in the jar to seal (dried banana chips)!
She was just snacking away 😂😂
Why would you not show removing the insert I can't seem to fit my wide mouth?
It was a little difficult to get the hang of it at first.
What do you do with the silicone sealer rings?
I couldn’t get the 1/2 gal jars to seal. Ant suggestions?
There may have been too much air in it.?? I would try to fill it more or switch to smaller jars.

You might need to leave it on for longer to remove more air.
I can't seem to get it on right! I get frustrated with it. Is there a trick to getting it on?
I just kind of wiggled it as I pushed it down over the jar. It was a little tight but not too bad. If you have too much trouble, maybe try a different jar.?

can I apply the vacuum sealer to the spagetti souce bottle and the lid (not any MASON jar)?
Try it. Mine works on certain pickle jars
I guess it would depend on the opening size.
So is this mean the canning no need to boil the can in the water anymore?
This does not replace canning.
No. It's not the same.
It just takes the air out of the dry food so it lasts longer. You can’t do it to any liquid foods.
Can u reseal with the same lid? Ty
Yes, as long as the seal is still intact.
Do you know if it will work with the standard lid that come with the jars or do you have to use their specialized lids ? cool video, Thx

Or at Walmart, dollar general any places that sells canning supplies
How long do the lids last? Do standard lids work? Where can I get lit replacements?

I reuse lids.
Love ours! Seal coffee, pasta, and stuff in the refrigerator...
I've seen another review where they say wait til it pops like normal canning prcoedure so I'm a bit confused. Do i need to wait for it to pop or not?
I didn't hear a pop but there was a change in the way it sounds after all the air has been removed. It is subtle so you have to really listen for it.
When I take off the sealer the lid comes off with it!
It sounds like it didn't seal then. Was it fully on when you activated it?
Yes 100%. Sealed 2 jars out of 10..very difficult to get it on the jars…returned it..
@@WisdomPreserved
How sad! were they good about the return?
They were amazing … picked up the next day.
Can you use this for tomato sauce instead of old fadjioned way
This is a great tool but best for dry ingredients.
Only if your storing in the fridge. If you want it shelf stable do it with a pressure canner
I'm pretty sure you're a Virgo or maybe the opposite sign Pisces. ♍ or ♓
