Forget the bed! I would wear that as a jacket and wear it outside the house! Adorable!

It's so cute. It's perfect to wear around the house too. And the lighter fur would work for the desert. Maybe sable fur in black and line it with scarlet sable. Love the idea

I am making my mom one now. But I only had 40" wide and directional. Plus my paper was not 60" either. So I really had to keep track where I had to add 4" and 14" to make lining match my outter fabric. Yes. I had to tape paper together. But I still had to add those inches on the fabric. 😊
Good direction, thanks for having this video. Because we couldn't find a bed jacket in my area. It's amazing how much lack of product is out there or not there when you are looking for something specific.

Oh, Laura! It is just DARLING! I think many of us would wear it also as a quick little cardigan, not just in bed. It's actually way too cute to keep only for bed :) LOVE also that it's reversible! So much fun! One of my favorite projects! Can't wait to share this one! xoxo Ellen

Thank you! I just completed my version with 1.4 yards of a 58” fleece remnant. I didn’t line it, instead cut enough 2” strips to make a binding around the collar, fronts and back. I had just enough fabric left to make cuffs. Great idea!
Lovely project! It is great how you made something so cute from such a simple diy pattern. Thank you for creating it and sharing it with us. It would make a terrific gift for several people on my list now the only challenge is finding a sneaky way to get the size right. ;)

I wish I could find out what that quilt pattern is in the back. I’ve been looking at all her videos, and I still can’t find it in any of them but I absolutely love that pattern. If anybody knows what the pattern is, please let me know.
I was looking for an item to make for my mother and mother-in-law who are in assisted living and I think this (but maybe two thin layers) would work great. Now to figure out how to get their measurements during this lockdown.

Omg I'm out the door to go buy my yardage for my bed jackets! I have an auntie that suffered a stroke and she's doing much better but spends some time in bed. Her son took her to live with him, and she needs some TLC, and this is the perfect sewing project for her from me, and of course my mums gonna feel slighted if I don't make one for her! Thank you so much for this! My son wanted a full length faux fur coat and I had no idea how to do it until I saw this! I added a flip up collar and used a long nap fur. These sell for hundreds of dollars on Etsy so I am grateful I was able to make it sew easily!

help, the jacket I made was beautiful, until I added a top stitch along the finished edge. the jacket gathered on the seam from both underarms to the bottom of the jacket seam, as if one jacket was longer than the other. what did I do wrong.
I'm not sure what seam you mean, is it the seam that sewed the arms together or the very last top stitch? could it be that one fabric has more stretch than the other? When you pinned the jacket together, was it the same size. I'm trying to figure out if it the fabric or the machine that is causing the gathering!
Those big cuts from under the arms out of the cheetah fabric would be great for a dog or cat bed!
Or how about a hood for the jacket.....hmmmmm
OK truth be told. After I was done I fingered out I could use it as a hood., but the bed is a good idea! Thanks

Love it. I made 2 for my wife with cotton fabric and a quilted lining. Had to piece the cotton and quilted fabric to make them wide enough. I had made a third. But, turned out too large. So, I donated it to a nursing home. Love all your videos.
Love it! My mother-in-law is in a nursing home with dementia. Spends a lot of time in bed. Sometimes she knows family sometimes she doesn’t. I thought this be the perfect gift for her, this is definitely from her era. But OMG Mink does not play well. I cut it perfectly, no stretching involved. Now that I want to lay it out to stitch it together none of the ends, corners, sides me up like the way I cut it. Going to give me more gray hairs real quick!!🤦🏻♀️😔😬

it was the last finishing stitch. one fabric does stretch more than the other. I have started taking the last stitch out. Do you think it will be ok without the finished stitch?

Love it!! Absolutely love it!! Btw, I've noticed some very pricey sweats that's have been sparkled, almost a dedazzled look, but only down the front of the legs. I'd love to see how you would manage that one. Just think about it. Lol!! Such a jazzy way to lounge. And with this jacket...well say no more!!! 😄👍😍

Forget wearing it to bed, I would love to wear that exact jacket out. As the saying goes, it's too nice to wear to bed. I adore Fluffy and Animal printed fabric
Is the fact that the nap won’t be going the same way without a shoulder seam apparent?
It is fine if you have a fabric that looks like it has no nap. Like this lambswool. If you have a long fur you will see the difference
I was saying to my husband the other day that I wished I had an old-fashioned bed jacket to wear while reading in bed on chilly nights. What a straightforward pattern - and excellent instructions. Watch this space!

@@SewVeryEasy Well, I couldn't find it either, maybe it was another video? Anyway, it was a marking chalk that iron/steam took out, from Colette I think.
