What you need is an authority to reign in the raging demons in people. You cannot do this from a position of weak kindness and wishing for peace. As a wise saying goes: Mercy can only be granted from a superior position. Try to make peace with someone who has no intention and no incentive for peace but who basically signals you: No, thanks, I am quite enjoying the power I have to subdue others.
The "Palestinian" problem is very simple. One side is commanded by its Prophet to kill the other side. That's it. The rest are details. Anyone who tells you it's complicated is complicit. Refer to hadiths like Sahih al-Bukhari 2926 or Sahih Muslim 2922. And dozens of Jew-hating verses in the Quran, plus large tracts of Muhammad's biography (genocides of Jews in Khaybar, the Banu Qurayza massacre, etc.). This is a 1,400-year long religious war started by Muhammad and it's never going to end. Other conflicts end because they are actually about land, resources, revenge, etc. but this is RELIGION and unless you can rewrite Islamic scripture, this war will never end.
