Theory about Skipp: I think Skipp may had a good family, until something happened to them. I noticed in the show he appears to be more like a calm parental figure & intelligent due to giving people advices and knowing Maggot was "a child" (well he did not know that he was an angel). BUT HEY! THAT'S JUST A THEORY, A FILM THEORY!
ok so I agree that vinnie was an orphanage at a young and stone ran away (I also head cannon that his parents tried to get him into pageants but that failed miserably). But for skipp I always felt like he always lived on the streets but his parents were loving so he always knew what it meant to be loved and how that looks like.(and I imagine that his parents were caught in some robbery or something. I also like to head cannon that one of his parents gave him that guitar or whatever it is)

And I believe in an old tumblr post (that I cannot find for the life of me) that these characters are around 16, with Skipp being the oldest by three months, stone in the middle, and Vinnie last being around 15.

@@captainthebard13well just a theory but I think that we will see the crew's family's on the series because if you go take a look at the creator's shorts we can see that there will be found parents and in stone's Wikipedia it says that he has a sister so we are prolly gonna see stone's fam
MAJOR THEOIR, in the pilot at 2:43 in the show Vinne say’s stone was in maggot’s shoe’s once, which say’s A TON. So I think stone was also abandoned not ran away. It also could be highly possible because Vinne and Skipp have what I think normal name’s unlike STONE.. so I think they named him. Also that tell’s us he’s the newest member.

Has anyone checked the wiki? It said that Stone’s sister Avrille used him as a “lab rat” before he ran away. Also she’s one of the biggest “candy” producer and dealer so maybe that’s how Stone became an emo drunk boy? That’s just a theory

This is super random, but Stone IS from a rich family! And Skipp is cousins with Maroon, Tré’s bodyguard-thingy, but Zeddyzi said it would be a spoiler to see why she couldn’t take him in.
i think stone may have been rich and then kicked out by his parents or disowned or smth, but the runaway thing works too
They mentioned they found stone sopping wet and stuff so I guess skipp land Vinnie must have been buds then found stone after he ran away?

I am so late 🥲 but:
Not much is known about Vinne's backstory, aside from what stone said about her parents abandoning her the moment she was born and then she met Skipp and started their own gang. Vinnie actually has an ex-boyfriend called Ditch who's in a rival gang of some sorts, so it's possible she was in a gang with him for a few years and then left when they broke up(?)
Stone has an older sister names Avrille, who people suspect is the girl who takes her sunglasses off and has a lollipop in the pilot. It's been referenced/implied that she used him a bit like an experiment animal since she owns a candy shop (?) and they don't like each other but tolerate each other. He definately ran away and probably doesn't want to go back considering he doesn't like rich kids like Tre and his sister.
Skipp's the hardest one to figure out. Some people have said that Maroon is his cousin and other people have said that their related but it's not known how they are related. Considering Maroon seems to have an okay-ish job as a bodyguard despite being low in status and they get on well, I think it's something to do with Skipp's parents telling Skipp that he won't be/can't be anything basically like you said, restricting him, which is why Skipp is always so positive and nurturing.
Keep in mind though, that the Dear Evan Hansen animatic was a while back and characters could’ve changed since then. I do like the theory of Stone coming from a rich family though, it makes sense.
I think that Skipp’s family could’ve died, and maybe he had a younger sibling which is why he’s so caring to Maggot. He’s used to caring for small children when parents couldn’t. I don’t think Skipp’s parents were entirely good people, because he might’ve had to take care of his younger siblings for them. We see this again at the scene where he tells a parent to let a child express themselves.
The “family dying” theory might have a few holes in it though. For one thing, Skipp doesn’t look as emotionally damaged as either Vinnie or Stone. This could be masking, but he seems in much more control of his emotions - even towards the rich whom he and his friends despise for being so careless towards the poor.
There’s so many bits and pieces of lore from the early 2010s on the creators tumblr but I’m not sure if any of its cannon anymore
I have a theory. Two actually
So, I believe Skipp, Stone and Vinnie got their fancy clothing after maggot swallowed that lootbag, and basically maggot coughed that lady's purse with the house keys on it, they just kinda found the house, got the clothes and left.
(I made two ocs out of that, two ocs that were that woman's teenage kids because the social clothing fit perfectly into the scraps so I thought "hmm coincidence" and decided to create Kayle and Karter that were that rich lady's children, the ones who owned the fancy clothes. Now they live on the streets since a biblically accurate angel that took the form of a infant effortlessly swallowed their mother 😋❤️)
Skipp and Vinnie escaped an orphanage together, Vinnie and Skipp knew each other before meeting Stone, plus Vinnie's reaction after Stone suggested putting maggot in a orphanage "The orphanage's no place for a kid" indicates she was there already, and probably acquired some kind of trauma from it judging by how she words it.

Vinnie: abandoned out of the womb(her parents either couldn’t afford her or she wasn’t wanted) someone found her and took her to the orphanage where she probably got abused or neglected. She either escaped from the orphanage or it got destroyed by something(idk what tbh) and then started to live on the streets I wanna say around 12, maybe 13, idk it’s just a guess. Then she would’ve met Skipp and Stone….and yea….that’s it
Stone: born rich, but guessing with all the hints and stuff we’ve gotten over the years suggests that it was abusive and/or neglectful. I do think he ran away but I don’t think he’s been on the streets as long as Vinnie or Skipp(Vinnie and Skipp look like they’ve been on the streets for years, meanwhile Stone only has like a couple of months, 6 at most.) So basically he ran away very recently and Vinnie and Skipp found him “sopping wet from the rain” and took him in.
(These are just my theories u don’t have to agree with them)

Ok so as somebody who stalked Zeddy's tumblr after the pilot- like 98% sure it's still canon that Stone was a rich kid and most likely ran away, he has an older sister who I'm pretty sure is the girl in the bathing suit in the pilot and she's the perfect golden child so I'm assuming he ran away due to the pressure but there might be some more stuff going on- Vinnie was ofc in some orphanage and it was v shitty, dunno if she ran away or something happened or she just got too old (the ages keep changing) and I know nigh nothing about Skipp lol-

What I think is since Vinnie said at one point “you were in maggots shoes once me and skipp found you soaking in the rain” and vinnie was abandoned when she was first born I think skipp ran away from home because of probably something awful then he found vinnie then they found Stone probably as not as tiny as maggot but probably like a toddler because he ran away from his parents.which is why Skipp is so good with maggot. I is just my theorist's and this is what i got from researching on the 'fandom wiki' and also animatics alot of things can not-canon anymore, if theres any mistakes please correct me (also my english is not the best so bearwith me here)
OKAY, so in the "SINCERELY ME" animatic it shows tre, stone, and vinnie that first sight it looks like tre and stone used to old pals but in the fandom wiki it say's "stone and tre has a 'RIVALY' since childhood" that means they have "some" form of past together what that is it depends like maybe they were force to be friends but didn't so now they have a rivaly or maybe they used to be friends but something happed now there have a rivaly, also i like to point out 3 comments, only 1 being the most important
1. Againa in the "sincerely me" animatic some commeted at timestapped 2:50 at the video "WE'RE CLOSE BUT NOT THAT WAY! (Totally holding hands)" and zeddyzi (aka the creator) reposnde "Theyre totally holding hands in a totally platonic way."
I does that mean anything? No, not really i don't know if the creator was joking, or if that means anything, or maybe it something else something like the 'sincerely me' song itself, but moving one.
2. This is less serious but it kinda funny, someone commeted in the video
"I'm calling it, Tre used to (or still does) have a crush on stone", and someone repride on that with "It really feels like vox's and alastor's relationship (from hazbin hotel) with Tre being vox's" i kinda find this hole thing funny because i can't help to that "i hate anime" but with vox's insteded but this case it's Tre with the "i hate anime" with just photos of stone, i can't to just think of that 🤣
3. Okay this one is the most important one that i was talking about, so in this one of all. So someone commented :
'I just realized something. When she says, "i'm just tell the truth." Does that mean he actually does that?
And, for the part with, "i love my parents but each day's another fight." Does he actually have parents?'
Which the creator reply with :

Avrillie relationships (took is from the wiki by the way) :
Avrillie is stone's older sister, it implied that they do not have the best relationships due to their past.
In old art by zeddyzi, avrillie was shown to be in a romantic relationship with maroon, however this is not canon. (Not anymore at least)

Avrillie Grew up wealthy. She ha been shown to used brother[stone] as a "lab rat" of sort before he ran away.
my theory is: stone parents died in an some form of accident, he was neglected by them and absused by his sister, by being used as lab rat. One day he had enough and ran away from home, and he meet the the others and jointed them.
