Dr Merrill is a thorough empathetic human, who cares about getting to the root problems re his patients issues. Although I'm no longer in the Orlando area, I highly recommend his practice. His stretch recommendations and other water bottle techniques ( shown in other videos ) helped substantially with my tech neck issues!
When I check my BP at home it's borderline if I'm sitting up straight but much lower if I'm lying down so call the doctors office ahead of time and make sure you'll at least be in a reclining position and if they insist you have to be sitting with your feet on the floor keep calling until you get someone that'll let you take the test lying down or at least reclining.
What happens in the case of going in and your BP is high and they give you a form to take to your Dr? When you bring the form back to they go off the readings your Dr. gave, or do they test you again?
Hey, that's a great question. We ALWAYS have to take our own reading during our exam, it is REQUIRED by the DOT. BUT, if you have forms from your primary care doctor or another physician that is treating you for hypertension, that is something the examiner should take into consideration. Even still, you need your BP to be < 140/90 to get at least a 1 year certification. Thanks for watching, and I hope these tips help you keep driving.
