A note from Jakob (the editor) on video gear:
There are a lot of things we use to make videos that I wouldn't recommend people to use for theirs. It's just stuff we had on hand, so it's what we use. That being said, there are things we use that I would recommend, and those are listed below. I'm working on putting together a FULL recommended list of equipment to get your videos looking super sharp. That's coming soon :)

The thing about TBR mountain is that no one has ever seen the top -- it's too high in clouds. That said, I am so grateful that, among all these amazing books, The Prophet of Edan is one of the absolute reads for this month! Also, I have my copy of The Fall ready for May, and I'm looking forward to the buddy read, Papa John!
So are we just doing the Fall to start or the first novel as well?
@@Talking_Story I’ve got both and could easily read both in May. Let me know what works best for you because you’ve got a pretty full plate there, my friend!
@@PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy I have both set aside for May so let’s go for it!
@@Talking_Story You got it!
We'd need a sherpa and oxygen tanks to even try to reach the peak. Lol
It's always hard but so entertaining to watch the inevitable heartburn and sweats from the ever-looming TBR stack
I got both of those and more!
I love the banter between you and your son. Hilarious. Great pile of books!
Thanks so much glad we brought a smile to your day my friend!
Haha, next time Jakob should just let you sit there longer before telling you he's recording. I'm right there with you on so many of these: The Abercrombie standalones, The Will of the Many, Wurts, then not to mention all of my indie reads... but we love our ever-growing TBR piles!
I do love it! It is a joy. Thanks Christopher.
I’m confident you’ll get through all of these, I believe in you! In fact, I’ve got a couple sci-fi recommendations if you’re looking to squeeze some more series in.
Once I finish Suneater I will be taking you up on that!
Going to give him the Hamilton special? 😂
Love seeing this tbr pile!! Awesome variety, and I’m pretty psyched myself to try out James Islington and Ryan Cahill’s stuff!
Will look forward to comparing notes on everything.
So many promises John 😅
I am hoping to get bound of the broken done to catch up in time for new release. Loving it so far
That is a promise I will keep or Dr Chase will come after me. Bound and the Broken is happening!
I always love the excitement for books in this channel. Its the same with me since none in my family reads. ❤ cant wait to hear about these books!
Thanks man so nice of you to say! I will let you know about alllll of them.
I accidentally started with Best Served Cold as I misread the series I was looking at. It was my 1st Abrecombie book and it was great. I'll be going to the series proper soon. I do like the feeling of being caught up on a series, but then there's the longing for the next one to counter it.
And I love the banter between you to.
I subscribed to a bunch of new BookTubers back in December and you were one of them. I need to play catch up on your videos, it's almost as bad as my TBR.
Oh I know what you mean I am way behind on my video watching. Thanks for kind words. Joe Abercrombie is soooo good. My next is best served cold so I was happy to get your review.
That's quite the fortress of books, my friend. And I have a feeling it will just keep on growing. Like a crystal from Krypton thrown into the snow...
Congrats on 5K! So well-deserved.
Thanks Stephen. It has already grown😂
That's an awesome list, and I understand how you feel about having too many books to read. That's not going to stop me from adding to your pile. I am still hoping for a miracle.
I have been adding to mine like crazy this month and I don’t feel bad about it at all😂
A little ambition never hurt nobody!! I truly do hope you manage to get to most if not all of these, you've got some of my personal faves stacked up in there! Happy reading 🤩
Thanks Esmay. Gonna do my best.
John you're an absolute legend! I wish i had your reading ability. That book stack looks like some real amazing reads! Good luck.
Thanks so much! Like I say I think I probably won’t make it up this mountain but no reason not to try.
Absolutely, if you get through half of them still a good job in my book. Love the content thanks very much. You always inspire me to read more.
@@iBe-RuNnErZ thanks my friend
I hope you’re not feeling pressure to read … hopefully you enjoy the journey cuz you ain’t never reachin’ that destination!
In all seriousness I am having a blast!
I'm just waiting for Jacob to say "NO we're not going" 🤣
Don’t give him any ideas
I see your tbr and despair. Mine is longer….
Do not despair that is only a portion of mine.
my god you have a lot of books to read! I truly enjoyed all of the First Law standalones. Of course I'm also a huge Realm of the Elderlings fan... Tori's book is fantastic. The jury is IN, I liked and subscribed!
Thanks brother u r the best!
Tchaikovsky!!! One of my favorites.
I'm reading and loving House of Open Wounds now. They can be read as companion books.
I've seen the cover of book 3 that comes out end of this year in the UK and beginning of next year for the US. I will be pre-ordering it as soon as it is available.
So it is 3. Awesome thanks for that. I really want to give him a try.
Great video! Wow, that is an impressive TBR! Having read a lot of what's on your list, I can say you are in for some amazing reads! Hard to pick a fav from what I've read that is also on your list here, but if pressed, have to pick THE DARKNESS THAT COMES BEFORE. That book lives in my head, & only my own massive TBR & ARC reads have prevented me from getting into book 2 in the series. I predict R. SCOTT BAKKER is going to be one of my new fav authors when I'm done that series. Happy reading!
Thanks so much and I have Drowned Kingdom on my list to get into on the horizon as well.
So many great things on your list, John! Really stoked for your June - Fire and Blood and Demon in White are incredible. Our TBRs never shrink it seems! The City of Last Chances series is going to be five total if Tchaikovsky can convince his publisher to let him - but book three is scheduled to be released next year. They are loose standalones, though. City tells a complete narrative and then House tells a different narrative with only one returning character.
So much I want to get to but buddy reads and such have pushed Demon in White and Citynof Last Chances down the path a bit for me. But the slits were filled with great reads and amazing discussions which is why I joined the Tube so all is great!
oh man, I just made a video about all my current series and currently had 26 opened series. I thought that was a lot. Looking at your list makes me feel a lot better about myself lol. A lot of great books in those stacks though. Good luck!
I refuse to count how many I am working on that way lies madness😂
Great series, of course, BUT - the best thing is the banter between you and Jacob. 😆
Awww thanks Matt!
The First Law standalone are all great.
I’ve finally started the Age of Madness trilogy after putting it off for years, not sure why it took me so long!
I hear it is better than the first. Hard for me to believe.
John, u are not alone, some of my tbr follows, the rest of John Gwynne, the rest of Joe Abercrombie, rest of GGK, rest of Robin Hobb, all of Janny Wurtz, rest of Jim Butcher, etc etc etc, it's OK u know at least we have all good books to read in good company 😂
Perfect! Good books to read in good company! Words to live by.
Good luck! That’s a great TBR. Would probably take me about a year to read all those.
It does look daunting. They way I am likely to get pulled of course from my well laid plans has me worried. But no matter what some great books will be read!
Great (huge) list! I'm excited to hear your thoughts on Don't fear the reaper- it was my favorite of that trilogy and I love stephen graham jones! My goals for the year are to finish the dark tower, and hopefully read book of the new sun. Thanks for the video!
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Dark Tower. 1
Of my favs!
It looks like such a great list! I just can’t plan ahead like you are, but I definitely have so many books I want to read this year, with many being from series.
Omg this video just cracked me up! 😂
Anyhow, good luck with that giant stack!
Thanks Sherri. Now let’s see what all this planning does for me 😂
Love it, you so got this! The video made me think of my tbr and it makes me sick lol🤢 So much good stuff to read out there. I did pick up To Ride Hells Chasm to read in May and currently going threw The Red Rising series and my Sanderson journey. 📖
We have so much crossover! Hells chasm in May together hells yeah!
With so many fantabulous books there, I'm a lucky man to have a hard core promise!
The novella and Unbound are in June. I can’t wait to get back to Holt!
Aw man, I've never found a booktube channel that made me laugh as much as you guys do! Congrats on reaching 5k subs btw, you more than deserve it!
That is amazing to me! I appreciate the heads up and the congrats from you and author of Songs of chaos this am. I try not to watch the numbers too much.
Thank you for featuring Elegy!
No worries I hope to get to it soon!
Terrific TBR stack and great video. Really enjoyed watching. So many in your list I want to get to as well - Suneater, First Law, Richard Swan and Robin Hobb, just to name a few. Good luck with it!
Thanks so much! maybe you can join me as I try to wade through this mountain of books!
@@Talking_Story I would enjoy that. I will be watching to see when you get to some of these and will try to join.
@@FineLine77 Wonderful!
Demon in White was my favorite Sun Eater book until I read Disquiet Gods. Also I'm so psyched you will be reading Bakker. That's an all time favorite series for me.
I am so ready to dive into that 1
Wow that’s a lot of series lol. I need to read the First Law standalones too.
Too much good stuff out there for us book dragons.
I've done almost nothing but start new series this year lol, so I understand the struggle. Dandelion Dynasty, Earthsea, Murderbot, Farseer, Empire of the Wolf. Just now getting a book two going with The Tyranny of Faith, and I'll probably continue the Murderbot series next. Although The Will of the Many is super high on my list as well
Oh maybe we can time that 1 so we get to it together!
This was hilarious 😂 That TBR is lit!! 🔥
Thanks! Glad we brought you a chuckle.
He is finally starting Malazan! yessssssssssssssssssssss
That is next year!
John, after watching this video I don't feel so bad for my loooooong TBR! 😂
You have there some great books! 😊
Don’t feel bad you are just part of the awesome club with good sense to know there are soooo many great stories in the world.
Wow, now that's what I call a list! I do want to get to Kagen the Damned myself, my mission in life is to get to WOR asap and I have to, just HAVE to be ready for Stormlight Archive #5 - but there is so much more stuff I have to read in between, it sometimes gets a bit overwhelming lol
Getting ready for wind and Truth is our mission my friend. We will make it!
Your are going to love the Justice of the kings. Starting the 2nd one in May. The third is published. Goooood luck on your TBR!! Interesting reads. Great video as always.
Thanks so much. I am just waiting for the paperback release on that book 3. Think it is in October.
Ok cool. If I may, I would like to mess with your TBR with two suggestions. The Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams and The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell. Best books of the year so far for me. Happy reading.😊
@@shanaygertze I read the Winter King last year. It is on my all time fav list and posted a top 10 fav moments from the trilogy if you want to check it out. Tad Williams is on the list for next year I found a very nice first printing when I made my used book shopping video so it is waiting in the wings!
This was hilarious! 😂 Although I took am terrified. My TBR is larger than yours!
That was just a portion of mine. Take heart! Plus I have a pretty big haul this month!
YES! So glad to see some love for R. Scott Bakker, my favorite author of all time! Also, Tress of the Emerald Sea was enchanting. I've been a Brandon Sanderson fan for ages, and Tress reminded me why I became a fan in the first place.
I have your novella set up for May my friend!
@@Talking_Story oh, goodness, thank you so much!!! That absolutely makes my day!
Good luck John! I just started Malazan for a readalong with Matt...and I am behind in a readalong of The Book that Broke the World by Lawrence...then Anne Rice! Promise I will read it asap!
Just hit me up as soon as you get to it and we will talk!
Five stages of grief 🤣quite the list! blimey i found The shadow of the Gods in a charity shop near me so that will be on my TBR list soon looking forward to it!
That is a nice find! Glad we brought you a chuckle.
Being a reader is hard work!!! I mean this list is killer....how do you choose! LOL! I must emphasize the R.Scott Bakker books (and obviously Sun Eater). Good luck...
I am very excited to get to Bakker. Thanks so much!
Congrats on the 5K subs, can’t wait for you to start Robin Hobb, skip all the pretenders and go right to the Queen!
I do want to get to her this year for sure!
And thanks so much!
Totally doable. You'll definitely be adding to that. May I suggest Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons and House of Suns by Alistair Reynolds. Two of my favourite books.
I'll be continuing Sword of Truth, Thomas Covenant 2nd Chronicles, Mistborn and The Dark Tower. I'll be starting Wheel of Time in June. And I'll also be reading some mood reads in the last 10 days of each month.
Love Carrion Comfort and House of Suns is on the wishlist so hopefully won’t be too much longer for me to get to that 1.
My tbr changes every week! Plans right now The Last War Trilogy, The Burning Quartet, finishing the Boudica Quartet, the Liveship Traders, the Bound & the Broken with you and Dr. Chase.
The Land of the Living & the Dead, Daughter’s War and Fury of the Gods I plan to listen to the first day they get released and I will drop everything!
Papa John has a nice folksy/ Monterey Popish ring to it.
Monterey Popish vibe. I feel like I should go banjo shopping😂. Can’t wait to compare Bound and Broken notes with you Heidi.
I'm currently reading the second book in the First Law. I'm loving it! I really want to start his standalone books. I really want to start The Stormlight Archive this year. I started reading The Way of Kings as my Brandon Sanderson introduction, but it was really over my head. And I learned that The Mistborn Trilogy, Elantris, or Warbreaker is the best place to start. Good luck to you on your tbr lol.
I think Mistborn is a great start. Jakob is really digging it.
@@Talking_Story I've read the Mistborn Trilogy and Warbreaker. So my next stop is either the Wax & Wayne series or Elantris. Brandon updated his reading order recently so I need to go back to watch it again.
@@nathaneichenberger9332 I have enjoyed Mistborn era 2 more than i expected to honestly. Fun swashbuckling, gas lamp Holmesian vibe to it.
❤️ you guys
Thanks Alison
This is a nice and huge stack. I think it´s possible and depends on many things (like work, reading-time and other hobbies). Some of these books are also already waiting for me to begin. How many books are in your bookshelves all over the house? And do you keep them all after reading?
I do not have a count and keep a lot but I do sell some to buy more 😀. Look forward to reading some of these with this year!
TBR mountain is the best description I've heard of this problem. I've mostly instituted a book-buying ban on myself as I have 10-12 months worth of physical books at home right now. It honestly stresses me out a little bit lol. As for some of the books, I'm reading Tress of the Emerald Sea next - squeezing it in at the end of April. Fire and Blood may happen for me this year - I'm putting up a poll on the channel in June, and I might get to Cahill's books too! Or not LMAO
I have tried to ban myself but it just doesn’t work😂. I have just given into the problem.
"My name is John, and I'm a bookaholic!"
@@RedFuryBooks OMG yes I am! 😂. My other problem is I don’t think I ever want to change.
@@Talking_Story absolutely not!
Hey John you are looking good! 😍😍
Well thank u.
You can do it!! 😂😂
Thanks for that vote of confidence!
All of these books look great. I think you're the first Booktuber that I've seen talk about reading any David Eddings, but all of those books are so awesome. I'm looking forward to reading more Ryan Cahill and starting John Gwynne soon. And, of course, can't wait until December for Wind and Truth.
Maybe we can start Gwynne together.
@@Talking_Story Sounds great to me!
Just finished Witchy Eye today and it is damn good.
Ohhhhh this is awesome to hear!
You’re never alone. If I stop buying new books today and was able to read 100 a year, my TBR will most likely outlive me. 😢
We just gotta live forever my brother!
I am excited to see what you think of the rest of Suneater- I liked the first three books but the four and five are some of my favorite books of all time (book four is the first piece of media to ever make me cry and it will always hold a place in my heart).
Tress is SO much fun especially if you like something like The Princess Bride although they are VERY different.
Assassin’s Apprentice is so wonderful especially because I love Robin Hobb’s prose and the way she evolves Fitz as a character over time.
The Will of The Many is one of my favorite books in recent memory and I don’t really like it when books have the school trope but this took tropes I don’t care for and just made me love every single one of them and such a dynamic emotional range for me.
I am going to be reading the Darkness that Comes Before sometime in the next two months because I love me some wonderful philosophy.
The Bound and The Broken had a really interesting start and I had these feeling of contentment as I read it and I loved that. I am going to read the second book sometime soon.
I am so excited for you to read The Shadow of the Gods because I remember the second book being one of my favorites. It was so unbelievably good for me. Also, Jakob you should totally call him Papa Mint- it rhymes with Papa Gwynne. I will be rereading those in preparation for the third book and I am VERY excited for that.
The series I know that I plan to start is The Dandelion Dynasty and take Malazan head on because it had a wonderful quote that I will never forget so long as I live from book 3 and I haven’t read that yet. To anyone who has read this far- and even those who haven’t I hope you have a great day and that you find a new favorite book. It’s not enough by the way, you haven’t read Tad Williams have you?! HAHAHAHA!
Ohhh I have read Otherworld and the Bobby Dollar series by Williams but not the big 1 I need to get to. There is always next year😂. Seems like we will be reading a lot of the same stuff for 24. That is awesome! Have a great week!
@@Talking_Story DARNIT! I thought I had you but then again I can’t talk either- I haven’t read anything by him at all so you’re a step ahead of me. It’s that part of me that goes- you own the book so read book.
@@combativeroboguy2490 oh I hear you! I own it and I want to it and everything right now😂
I have always had a little to big of a TBR list but this is the first year I have had a long plan, the series I have are, the inheritance cycle, suneater, the expanse, bloodsworn saga, rhythm of war so I can be ready for wind and truth, the first law trilogy, the light bringer series by Brent weeks so that’s my 2024 I think
That’s is a solid plan! Awesome. Maybe we will be doing Bloosworn and Suneater at the same time.
@@Talking_Story it’s possible I have already finished the first bloodsworn and it was very good I’m excited to see your thoughts on it.
That’s a big pile of books there John. I see Jakob’s embracing his inner Timothee Chalamet.
Great video as always.
Thanks nephew! That is not even the whole pile!
Will be focusing on Sun Eater and Stormlight for this year! But will try to sneak in The First Law Trilogy along the way
Wow you got bangers set up for all year!
John Gwynne's fateful and the fallen is one of my favorite fantasy series. I haven't read to many but it did get me out of a dark time. Also of blood and bone. The shadow of the gods is also on my TBR
High praise for Gwynne. Maybe we could read Bloodsworn together if you are up for it.
@@Talking_Story Would be down 100% for that. Maybe i can get the wife to get me an early Fathers Day present. She did get me empire of the vampire and Damned for my birthday this month. We shall see
@@GhostDragon3991 you got a bit of time. Not starting till I think August.
In 2024 I have started on the «Cicero» Trilogy by Robert Harris (Historical Fiction about the Roman Politician Cicero), «Sun Eater» by Christopher Ruocchio (Space Opera/Sci Fantasy), the «City of Victory» Trilogy by Adrian Goldsworthy (Military Historical Fiction set during the Campaigns of the Roman Emperors Trajan and Hadrian), «The Nightingale and the Falcon» series by Stephen Aryan (Historical Fantasy reimagining the Mongol Empire's invasion of Persia) and the «Lyonesse» Trilogy by Jack Vance ((pre-)Arthurian Fantasy)! I also plan to start on «Ash: A Secret History» by Mary Gentle (Alt-Historical Fiction inspired by the Mercenary Wars of the Renaissance), «Second Apocalypse» by R. Scott Bakker (Grimdark Epic Fantasy) and «Memory, Sorrow & Thorn» by Tad Williams (Epic Fantasy)!
I will continue with «Wise Mans Fear» by Patrick Rothfuss in «The Kingkiller Chronicle» Trilogy (Epic Fantasy), «Idoru» in the «Bridge» Trilogy by William Gibson (Cyberpunk) and «A Brightness Long Ago» by GGK (Historical Fantasy: While it is a stand alone, it is set in the same Universe as «The Lions of Al-Rassan» & «The Sarantine Mosaic»-duology) and I plan to finish «The Bloodsworn Saga» by John Gwynne with «Fury of the Gods» (Epic Fantasy) and the final two novels in «The Expanse» by James S. A. Corey (Space Opera)!
I hope to continue with the «Elric of Melnibone» series by Michael Moorcook (Epic Dark Fantasy) and the «Bernicia Chronicles» by Matthew Harffy (Historical Fiction set in 7th Century Anglo Saxon England), as well as the next books by Vaughn Roycroft and our dear Professor Philip Chase!
I might also get to the «Boudica»-series by Manda Scott (Historical Fiction about the Celtic Queen's Rebellion against the Roman Empire), the «Gael Song»-series by Shauna Lawless (Historical Fantasy set during the Viking Invasion of Ireland) and the «Horatio Hornblower»-series by CS Forester (Naval Military Historical Fiction set during the Napoleonic Wars)!
Ohhhh my brother you make feel not so bad😂. What a list. I have a lot of that on mine for someday.
I don’t even have a TBR 😮 I have a list of Maybes and when it’s time for a new book it totally depends on my mood. That the Maybes list is several pages long is another story…
Kinda the same with me. This stacks allows me to have choices for what I reach for next. Several pages long? Sounds like you know exactly how I feel!
@@Talking_StoryOh I do! But your stack isn’t helping! Soooo adding a few more Maybes 😅 Totally your fault and I’m happy for it 💝
@@ulrika44 I am happy for it too!
That’s 2/3 books ish every month for the rest of the year John… EASY! You can read all them by the end of the year. I’m definitely joining you with the John Gwynne and the R Scott Baker they’re on my 2024
I’m sad you missed out Kings of The Wyld though you should add that too😂
That is on part of my stack I did not drag upstairs. It will happen if not this year next. I need that rock n roll goodness!
Please let me know before you start witchy eye.And I will definitely read with you!! 😂❤🎉 Jakob, keep the banter coming!!
I will let you all know. Awesome to have you join!
@Talking_Story you guys are again so fun to watch. My dad passed when I was 15 and yalls videos always bring me a ton of joy and reminds me of banter I used to have with my dad. I'm sure many people here feel the same!
@@albinorhino83 oh man so sorry. That is a lovely compliment and I thank you enough. I will make sure Jakob sees this 1.
John, Robin Hobb is a brilliant author! Let me know what happens when you get into that series by Hobb, and also, take a look at another trilogy by the same author called the FarSeer trilogy! The brilliance of Hobb cannot be undone! Good luck!
I plan on getting through all of the Elderlings eventually. I will let you know all my thoughts when I get there of course. I hear the most amazing things about her character work. I am very excited to start!
That is daunting! I'd tackle all the ones that allow me to catch up with a series first, then go for the series starters. And top of the list would be Abercrombie because Best Served Cold is WILD. But that's just me 🤣But remember, as a wise little green puppet once said, "Do or do not. There is no try." 🤣
Your advice makes so much sense. I just plan on grabbing what speaks to me one after another till this year is over. Then we will see how close to pleasing Yoda I got😂
Been awhile since I've read some John Gwynne, despite enjoying Faithful & the Fallen at the time, i don't really have any interest in returning to that world but i think I'm over my Viking fatigue to read Bloodsworn Saga.
Maybe we can start it at the same time.
I have that exact same shirt.
Speak the words!
The shade! 😂😂😂
Glad we gave you a chuckle.
Wow that's a mighty stack. Ever thought about cloning yourself? xD
Also, I am curious on what you will think about Tress since it's a bit different from Sandersons other stuff.
It is a crazy stack!
@@Talking_Story At this rate you will be drowning in books if you're not already XD Perhaps some buddyreads can keep you motivated. I know I need some motivation to keep going at this point 😅

There should be no "must" when it comes to reading, there should only be "want" or "don't want".
Also feckin' hell, thats a lot of series to start in one year 😂
Papa Minton sounds more like a drug dealer than a wholesome viking re-enactor / author haha
My series in progress:
*Fantasy*
Kithamar (mostly a re-read)
- 1 book to be re-read | last book to be released
Realm of the Elderlings / Robin Hobb
- 1 book in progress / 7 books left after that
*Grimdark Fantasy*
Second Apocalypse / R Scott Bakker (re-read)
- 3 left to re-read
*Historical-Fiction*
The Last Kingdom / Bernard Cornwell
- 10 books left.
- I'm in no rush to get back to the series anytime.
*Silkpunk*
Dandelion Dynasty / Ken Liu
- 1 book left
*Western*
Lonsome Dove Quartet / Larry McMurtry
- 1 in progress / 2 left after that
After Tawny Man, I'll continue that re-read of Empire of Silence.
That is quite the pile there you have as well
@@Talking_Story thankfully not as many as you 😜
@@thatsci-firogue ahhh you got me there😀
Is the haircut and shave part of the new channel branding?
No just warmer weather creeping in 😀
All you are missing is a good manga Berserk, Vagabond, Vinland Saga and Attack on Titan. If only we had more hours in the day. 😅
I will take more hours to read! I found myself at the manga shelf in the comics shop last week. I’ll be back to it before too long.
Bubble guts...🤣
John, you know how to start a video lol
Glad you enjoyed it!
i would have watched this later today but the thumbnail insisted on my immediate entry to the land of talk about story. i feel manupulated. in a good way.
😂so glad we manipulated you!
@@Talking_Story lol
I'm patiently waiting for The Book That Broke The World to be ready for me at my library, until then I'm reading the Sun Eater series (about to start Howling Dark). Empire of Silence has been my second-favorite book of the 18 I've read so far this year. Most other years it would have been number one but I chose this year to read Lonesome Dove.
I think Howling Dark is a step up from EoS. Let me know what you think.
John, have you read Elantris yet? If not I’d read that before Tress.
Elantris was my first Sanderson read. I know not where people say to start but if I am gonna follow an artist’s journey I like to start at the beginning. So I think should be good. Thanks for looking out though.
@@Talking_Story I actually went in expecting not to like Elantris based on what others had said and I ended up really enjoying it. Glad it will be getting a sequel! Enjoy Tress it’s a great read.
@@rosssims7224 I liked it more than I thought I would too. I thought if this is the bottom of where this guy starts I am in for a ride.
I read Assassins Apprentice last year, it was okay I just didn’t love Fitz and the slowness of it. I’m told it’s some of the best of fantasy but that it is super slow, those may remain on my tbr for the future. I have other things I know I’ll like more.
I do hear the pace can take some getting used to.
It's always a blessing, in my opinion, to have a never-ending TBR. I, personally, have over 4000 books on mine and could not be happier 😊. I hope it never ends!!!! 😂
