- Spoiler alert: this year did not start out as planned. If you're new, hi 👋 I'm Jess, I used to make acne & skincare videos, but now I share vlogs and other adventures. Like traveling to Perth, Western Australia. Lots of updates in this one!!
So, having dad get sick was a shock. We weren't expecting him to have a stroke at any point in time. Sometimes you can know if someone is susceptible to a particular event. But dad eats well, exercises, doesn't work too much, doesn't smoke, and probably doesn't drink enough to warrant a heart-related event. And yet, he ended up in the hospital (thankfully they got him in time) and has since then been in recovery. You can see in this video he's doing well, but even this week of uploading he's struggled with tiredness and doesn't know how much longer he can work. To be fair, he's about to turn 75!!! He should have retired! lol.
Apart from that, this travel vlog takes you to Perth in Western Australia. It took all day to get there, but we had a pretty lovely time. It's a small city, very easy to travel around, and has free public transport too. We traveled over specifically for BJORK: CORNUCOPIA. She was a Perth Festival exclusive, and at least on our night, didn't disappoint. It's a full spectacle of a performance! I wish I took some footage but she is notoriously strict and gatekeeps hardcore. But look her up on FB or IG for amazing professional photos.
The art exhibit I pointed out was incredible. Just from a technical standpoint, I am amazed at the technological approach to creating art. But get this: the machine is writing local indigenous words, which are being transmitted to the wood and stones on the walls, which are collected from the local area. Oh really?! Haha, oh wow that's very small world! It was actually a pretty good hotel, we liked staying there, easy to get about and was close to the Bjork event. Perth is really nice, we were pretty surprised how it has such a small-town vibe. You live in a lovely part of the world! xx
I am so relieved your dad is doing well. He looks so dapper, fit, and clearly has a young soul! I wish I had just one parent who was that fun and hip! Always so good to “see” you Jess! 😊💙
Naww, thank you! Yeah he's doing pretty well considering what happened. Definitely has a young soul!! That's a great way to put it. I think we need to retain that as long as possible ❤️

Not really. I still get some spots, but I don't care so much about them. It's been 1000% worse!
