Personally, I find the drama in the nasuverse interesting because all these crafts are in decline. We're not seeing them at their prime, which adds to that urban fantasy vibe. Do you agree, or would you prefer to see the age of gods stuff?
honestly it's interesting because legit these alone can theoretically keep the channel going forever since the Nasuverse is massive and constantly growing
All I know is if Dante (Post Devil May Cry 5) landed in the Nasuverse He would have a field day fighting said nasuverse demons and maybe getting new devil arms from them. "THIS PARTY IS GETTING CRAZY!" *Cue Subhuman from Devil May Cry 5* and if Vergil? *Cue bury the light*
@@OtakuDaiKun Oh, no question about it. Both are supernatural in nature, just one seems to fall into the realm of pseudo-science than the other in most pieces of literature and media
@@pyronable Funny part is that ESP in Nasu’s lore is more supernatural than magecraft itself. It is a power inherent only to bloodlines, impossible to be taught, and capable of even surpassing magecraft at times hence why they took it upon themselves to be demon hunters. Magecraft on the other hand is able to be taught, it works on very strict laws, can only create what already exists, and Nasu even loves using technological comparisons to describe it. Most of the truly impressive magecraft borders True Magic and is the exception, not the rule.
Man the nasuverse is freaking big. I find everything related to mages, magecraft and the grail war fascinating. Kara No Kyoukai hasn't sold me on what it is doing, Tsukihime's anime though has me wanting more. But that's because the vampire lore is crazy intriguing because of the old ones. There was also going to be another anime with mages but I forgot what it was called.
Kara no Kyoukai very hit or miss. The more I read Mahoyo the more I realize it also critically underused Tohko. And of course Tohno Shiki has tons more awesome fights than Ryougi, especially when you take the Remake into account.
That’s basically what the Asakami clan turns out to be. According to Nasu, they worshipped the captured Mixed-Bloods as guardian gods and continued to interbreed with them, which caused them to almost become Mixed-Bloods themselves and diluted their bloodline. in turn, it leads to in the downfall of the Asakamis.
One thing I find very interesting about the nasuverse is the power system because in most power systems basically any character in that stories world can become a strong character if they train hard enough or at least get the right weapons but In the nasuverse it seems like if you're born a normal person they're seemingly nothing you can do to get stronger besides normal training which won't get you very far against pretty much any supernatural creature in the nasuverse.
That is incorrect in a way, as proven when delving into ancient warriors in the universe, the reason they were powerful was because they transcended human reasoning thus tapped into the mystical. For example, a lot of the Tohsaka’s magecraft was learned by their inherent belief that you could reach the root through martial arts, hence why they still practice Chinese martial arts, and it is explained Li Shuwen earned such mastery that he could indeed be superhuman (thus his Divine Spear moniker). Most Heian warriors where also superhuman and capable of defeating monsters by their mastery of swordsmanship. And of course both Musashi and Kojirou reached enlightenment and surpassed human limits close to True Magic with nothing but their sword (Musashi had a Mystic Eye though). Basically, it is less that regular humans are being portrayed as weak, but rather than the more modern humans relied on technology, the less powerful they became as individuals. Basically their ability to be stronger got diminished (which is true for mages too).
Last time I was so early full-blooded Oni were still common and had a habit of entering the capital on certain times of the month. Last time I was so early the Nanaya were still feared and just having one with a kind of drumstick around was troubling for inhuman beings.
This is my first time watching a video, and I just have to say you sound like the Reaper dub voice from Assassination Classroom. It is a compliment. Love the video and just gained a new subscriber!
Not gonna lie I've been using these lessons to help with world building for my d&d campaign. Ohhh thank for another great lesson professor dai the type moon news have been hype lately with strange fake trailer and samurai remnants game what your thought on those trailers?
Is magecraft and ESP in Nasuverse two sides of the same coin like Toaru or totally unrelated to each other?Does having ESP cause rejection syndrome to magus? Also If Toaru storyline exist in Nasuverse which timeline is the most fitting?Tsukihime,Fate,Kara no Kyoukai or Lord El Melloi II?
Now I want to see dai chan as a oni. I wonder if nymphs might make appearance in fgo. I surprised Merlin Is not hunted Dowu by demon hunters. So being normal not a person who is not part of a demon hunter or mix bloodline is a advantage.
Why would Merlin, who spent most of his time in England, be hunted down by the DHO, which is from Japan, besides Merlin wasn't the type of demons they fought againts
How strong do you think the average person could get in the nasuverse assuming that they have infinite willpower and are willing to do anything to get stronger?
If you aren't born as a mage, you might have to use mage tech to compensate. That or go the Kiritsugu route where you learn about mages just to exploit their weaknesses. Maybe have someone create a homonculus with good circuits, and use it as a partner or new body for your mind.
@@OtakuDaiKun I find the inequality in the nasuverse's power system very interesting in most anime or anime inspired mediums like visual novels you see power systems where people can just train to get stronger in the power system sure some people may have certain talents for certain aspects of the power system but they can all train to get stronger in the nasuverse that is true for mages but normal people have to take more roundabout ways to get stronger instead of just doing the magical equivalent of working out or studying which I think is very interesting I haven't seen a video talking about the interesting inequality in the nasuverse's power system I think you should make a video on that I think it would be really interesting.

Quite true. Another show that seems to capture that modern vs ancient magic comparison is Irregular at magic highschool.
@OtakuDaiKun what about the demon hunter known as Devilman?
I agree, but I would love to see a spinoff based on the age of gods.

My understanding is that ESP wasn't magecraft, but a another form of Mystery. Though it's similar
I guess it's a bit semantic. Both Magecraft and ESP rely on mystery. It's just that one can be taught while the other is strictly biological.
