Highlighted in this series is the dedication found across Indian Country to protect the coming generations' right to a life on Mother Earth that includes clean water, clear air and protecting traditional ways of life. In this episode, you'll meet the co-founders of Mazaska Talks Matt Remle (Lakota) and Rachel Heaton (Muckleshoot). Journey with them as they work to develop a strategy to combat the Dakota Access pipeline and take on the powerful financial institutions financing it. See how this struggle helped influence the birth of direct actions against financial giants like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and other institutions actively funding climate injustice against Indigenous nations and those most impacted by it all over the world.

6th generation Coloradoan here,,, I don't want any crude oil in this state coal is bad enough just ask the people who lived around the coal fire plant Martin Drake power plant in Colorado Springs. Would be cool to be the first totally green powered state. With our wind & elevated water resources combined with solar & geothermal power there is no reason we can't achieve this. Colorado provides about 70% of water to every population west & south of it it would be a mass disaster of epic scale if 1 crude tanker went into a river let alone a whole train went into it.

I remember when I reached out to my wildland fire company, the local fuels suppliers and the town of Bend Oregon to get support for the standing rock issue and EVERY single person I reached out to turned me down. most people don't care.
