video popped up unrelated i didn't need to watch it, but i did! Video is great quality and great content. Keep it up i see this channel has great potential if you persist with regular uploads.
Great start there bro. Just purchased a U6+ , US-8 switch. I have an edge router X from previous network, so looks like we are building together. UCK is the direction im going as I'll need at least 3 AP to cover my house, and i was to add a camera or 3.
Thank you! That's a great starting kit! The UCK is excellent. If you get it, get the rack kit as these things get hot and it negatively impacts drive life (it's a 1TB spinning disk). I have a U6+ and a UAP-AC-Pro along with 5 cameras and a chime running off of it. It's a great home setup and I can access it anywhere without port forwarding. Happy to answer any questions as you get it set up! Thanks for watchin!
Very nice. A good trick to know is that you can use a standard size zip tie to remove the access point from the mount if you lose the metal removal tool
Yes! That or a small paperclip as it is firm enough to lift the small clip. We had a tech on site losing their mind last week trying to remove a UAP-AC-LR from a similar back plate. While I'm sure they felt differently, it gave me a good laugh from the other side of the conference call. 🤣
@@MrJonas7 I believe it! I'm a big guy so me and gravity do not mix. I'm not trying to play that game high in the air. Everyone loses if I go down, lol!
You get two options - on or off. This is based on the UniFi App and settings on the new U6+. The running joke is that the LEDs in the Ubiquiti AP line will dim on their own over time…
Can you help me please to completely set up my unify console...somehow my u6 in wall accesspoint not adopting to my unify dream wall and saying uplink is not available.
I have not yet worked with the dream wall. That said, one of my favorite Ubiquiti content creators, Crosstalk Solutions, made a video with the full setup: ua-cam.com/video/nWP-BKeN6Xk/v-deo.html Give this a watch as it should be all-in-one when setting up the UniFi OS and Network application. Let me know if this helps!
Nope! You need a PoE switch or power from USB-C and something handing out DHCP so it can get online for the initial setup. This can come from your internet provider’s equipment. The U6+ provides up to 1500 sq. ft. of coverage. I have it centrally placed in my home and it works just fine in all extreme corners.
The U6+ has dual-band but 2.4Ghz only has HT20 and 40 options. 5Ghz has 20, 40, 80, and 160. This is from checking the UI radio settings with the AP on the 6.6.55 firmware, and the Network app on 8.0.28.
It can be, yes. The recommendation from UI is to have a software controller or device running UniFi OS, like a Cloud Key, however it can be done in standalone. Here's a like to UI's documentation: help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/12594679474071-Standalone-Access-Points-without-UniFi-

I appreciate that, thank you! Working to keep posts regular and fresh!

@@TCD_TheComputerDad It can really be a pain, especially if you're on a ladder trying to take it off the ceiling :D

Do i need a specific router/modem to run one of these? I want to add one in the middle of my house so the entire home can have wifi. Thanks!

Can this AP do 2.4Ghz running WiFi 6 and can it do HE160? Unifi website doesn’t say anything about those features.

Hmmm lost, so that is if you have a Unifi UCKm, and if not????
You can use a software controller installed on a PC or a UniFi OS platform like a UCK or UDM. In this video, I was still using a UCK Gen2 Plus.
It has no bluetooth. Can it still be setup in standalone mode?

No support for macOS unfortunately...
