Because of anakins emotional issues, he didn't needed a brother figure like Obi wan. He needed a father figure like Qui gon. One to teach him not hide he's feelings but to let them flow naturally within him and set boundaries for him. Like Dave filoni said. I believe this is the way anakin could have avoided to turn to the dark side
And here shines the genius of Palpatine. One of the reasons Anakin adored Quigon was because he is the father figure he never had. His death created a vacuum. Palpatine immediately made use of this opportunity and kinda became that father to manipulate him further. The council can be wrong at times and only Qui gon ( and Dooku) would call them out on their BS. Obi Wan, while being the perfect jedi , was in the end nothing more than the council's dog. That's why Anakin can't accept him as a father like he would do with Qui Gon.
yeah, honestly throughout both continuities there were only a couple of Jedi masters I can think of who could've stopped Anakin from going dark side, Quigon (obviously) Plo Koon, and Yaddle who wasn't even taking padawans before she died.
My only problem with that statement is that in the movies Obi Wan is treated more like a strict father to anakin most times rather than a brother. The clone wars makes really feel like siblings tho
Well The sorcerer’s stone book did come out in the same year month and day as when The phantom Menace started production which is quite the coincidence almost makes you think🤔
The Jedi Order should not have been so tough on Anakin. Telling a child that they are the Chosen One who will affect the galaxy is a burden that should never be placed on a child, I know from similar experience. Obviously not a chosen one like Anakin, but as a mature natured kid who was left with burdens that eventually made my emotions collapse instead of going down anger and hate, I fell into depression and blaming myself.
You know, I’m kind of confused by young Anakin’s behavior. Being a former slave, you’d expect him to be obedient. Like, super obedient, to the point it’s kind of creepy. Or even if he’s misbehaving scream at him like “ANAKIN! BEHAVE!” and he should flinch and cower from instinct. I think an interesting characterization would have been that because he’s supposed to be a free person now, he wants to do kid stuff like he’d seen freeborn kids do, so when he’s denied he talks back in frustration, then he gets a harsh reprimanding, which reverts him to obedient “I’ll do what you say so please don’t hit me” slave mode, which is interpreted as him realizing he’s wrong, which frustrates him even more and may give him the impression that they’re using his trauma against him, and it keeps spiraling until somehow he starts becoming desensitized to these slave instincts and only the defiance remains.
i think Anakin doesn't act like that because his time as a slave never broke his spirit, considering he still had the dream of being a pilot and, "coming back to free all the slaves". His spirit was never broken. Also, he didn’t just become a “normal kid”, he was raised by monks after being freed.
The Jedi never provided the nurturing and guidance he needed. Obi-Wan truthfully never wanted him, was fearful of his abilities and only agreed to train him because it was his own master's dying wish. Imagine being a slave your entire life, estranged from your mother as a young child and inducted into a cult where you are thrust into warfare before you are even old enough to understand it. The only sympathetic ear and support you receive is from a devil disguised as a wise fatherly figure who manipulated you for their own ends. Such a tragedy, the subject of many prophecies and gifted with immense power and still be a slave your entire life. It is no wonder he turned into the ravaged, misshapen form of Vader.
Anakin would not have fallen had he had a master who was prepared to deal with him. His fall was in part due to the fact that he saw Obi-Wan as an older brother therefore there is a certain lack if respect you treat your sibling with.
I was watching clone wars and the episodes with the younglings harvesting theyre crystals reminded me of how you referred to this youngling as a douche is how I was telling what pietro from that episode is

In a way Qui Gonn, saved the Light Side of the Force, by forcing Anakin into the Order. Imagine if they Council rejected his admission, I doubt Palpatine who already noticed the boy would ignore him. *Deeply rooted jealousy is often the cause of bullying & so some bigger slightly stronger individual(s) may or may not try to subconsciously bring you down to their toxic level*
Funny thing is that Anakin was the chosen one and would bring balance. Well balance is not just light nor just dark. The jedi council didn't recognise that which also lead to Anakin falling after being manipulated and groomed for years on end.
I have this head cannon scene for episode 2 where upon returning to coruscant with Obi-Wan Anakin starts stick training with Androids, much like the scene with the Darth Maul hologram. Other Jedi masters, keen to test out the "chosen" ones skills, ask Obi-Wan to challenge Anakin against 3 other Padawas. Obi-Wan denies but Anakin, after being taunted by the padawans, accepts. Anakin duels and beats all 3 Padawans, he turns his back to gather his gear but one of the padawans isn't finished. He calls Anakin out, when Anakin ignores him the padawan says "I'm talking to you slave" and strikes Anakin who turns around and uses the force to stop him. The Padawans stick begins to splinter as he and the other two padawans levitate in mid air. Obi-Wan orders Anakin to stop, Anakin snaps out of it and releases the padawans. One of the padawans is speaking in his alien tongue calling Anakin "Vader" over and over again. When Anakin asks what that meant one of the human padawans says "Monster, Vader means monster." Anakin just smirks and walks away.
So many things that led to Anakin turning to the darkside. A master that felt obligated to raise and train him because of a promise, an order that was strict on him and Palpatine preying on him. As much as I like him, Yoda failed during his tenure as grandmaster.
@@articxunodorseggnej8016 If Qui Gon lived, I'm sure he would have found a way to help Anakin. He had his difficulties with the Order as well. Point remains, this is why the Jedi Order failed. I've always been bothered that the Jedi counsel just handed Anakin over to Obi wan as a padawan. I mean, they even acknowledged that he *was* the chosen one, and was potentially very dangerous. But hey, let's just pawn him off on this freshman Jedi knight that just passed the trials, himself. It'll be fine!
There's a similar dynamic between Anakin and the other jedi students as there is when Bane arrives at the sith academy on Korriban, since they're both force wielders who arrived to their respective orders late and were met by the jealousy of their peers. Both ended up destroying their orders too, and in doing so eventually restored the strength to the Jedi and Sith respectively.

Youngling: "It's...because...I am...Black...right?" *Dies*
should be about that
You have my black protection pass🎟️
That got dark fast
lol
Chill bruh
That youngling : "Anakin is a slave to his emotions."
Anakin : Very poor choice of words.
Anakin: Let Me Prove You Right
@@shoverload5135Anakin after words: actually nevermind.
Anakin: Thank you Star Wars Comics, I will now hunt them down.
name long!
Ah so that's why he had no issues straight up destroying the younglings lmao
Anakin when he suffered bullying: sad
Anakin when he came back to kill his bully: *hello there*
He’s Mace Windu’s kid. Dad taught him Anakin hate.
Funnily enough that’s actually mace windu when he was young
@@convoy034
No because Mace was on the council when Anakin was first brought to the jedi.
@@grisom5863 no I mean the picture of him in the thumbnail is mace when he was a padawan
@@grisom5863 windus child not child windu

I’m thinking Anakin got some payback
I wish they would produce an animated show regarding Anakin’s early days.
Knowledgeseeker hopefully with the Clone Wars animation style
Me too they seem more interesting than I don't like sand
Early clone wars or new clone wars
That would be interesting to see
YES YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS DEW IT
I love how Anakin reversed their criticism though. He made them feel extreme fear at the drop of a hat.
I feel like every black person in the star wars universe hate Anakin Skywalker
* Mace Windu
* Lando (deserved since it's darth vader)

Mace was legit too...I’d be concerned too if a prospective Jedi was an emotionally unstable puss
Finn?
@@adamhogan5442 lol...there’s maybe 4 black people in the whole universe...weird he didn’t include Finn. But also not sure why Finn would hate Vader, outside of a general hate of the empire
@@Blargleflakes no I'm saying finn doesn't hate vader because he knows basically nothing about him
@@adamhogan5442 nah I know man, I was reiterating that. I see I coulda worded it better though.
Outside of a general hatred for the empire, there’s no reason for him to hate Vader*
Hope the New Canon will give us more stories about Anakin in his padawan years. There were many interesting stories in Legends about that time like the "Jedi Quest" books or the "Rogue Planet" and "Outbound Flights" novels.
Jedi Quest series are the best but yes, I really hope we can see something new! Seems like a wasted opportunity not to have more stories about Anakin's studying and growing up in the temple
@Satanic Panic Fun and Games belive what you want to beilieve there is so many
Good star wars stories that Disney decided to make legends
The irony if the thumbnail 👀
“Well well, how the turntables”

The senate= Palpatine
Jedi order is under palpatine jurisdiction
“Hah! Slave!”
Anakin: “ that’s funny. Because my ancestors said the same thing your ancestors”
Since we’re talking about the Star Wars universe and all of the millions upon millions of races that exist within it, I’m sure almost every race was enslaved at some point or another.
