I just bought the spectrum and have dove with the mask it's a great mask I'm not disappointed
4:00 -- To clear the Spectrum take a three step approach. Step 1: Do NOT look up. Look forward, and press the purge valve to drain most of the water from the mask. Step 2: Look DOWN and exhale strongly to drive water out with the exhaust. Step 3: Look up, and while pressing the purge button with one hand, pull down slightly on the tab at the chin with the other hand. There are drainage vents located there that will take remaining water out through the holes in the skirt.

@@chromexfz0991 I think so! Essentially you have to clear the mask part first by lifting the bottom of the frame like a normal mask, so everything goes into the mouth piece, the clear that by purging. Takes some Practice but it works!

Mine keeps fogging a little bit but it was one of the very first ones produced. I know people with later versions who don't have this issue at all. Let us know if you're interested in one, we can give you 10% off in the SAGA store :)
Just trained on the Spectrum, very comfortable, no issues.
Was not able to use the Guardian as they do not fit a person with wide cheekbones.
The cost to upkeep the guardian is expensive!

Prep the spectrum the same as a regular mask by cleaning with toothpaste to remove film inside. Then use a quality defog and you won't be disappointed.

How are you supposed to breathe through your alternate air supply if the primary is ziptied in? Do you have to take of the whole mask?
Gabe Soliz yes indeed. You carry a spare mask. In case of an out-of-air emergency you would switch to that. Look up our OTS Guardian review. It's demonstrated there :)
We’ve dove with this mask a cpl of times with friends..but we still prefer our ots guardian.

Hey. I have the gardian and the scubapro. I'm back diving with the scubapro. Less bulky and you can take off the regulator. Fogging up, no problems. Like to sell my gaurdian.

Nick, does the orange lens distort the colors you see underwater much or is the tint not that dark?
It doesn't really affect the colours underwater at all, in my experience

However if the fogging issues keeps arising there will be some regret. Also how would this mask work with an Apeks MTX-R reg that has no breatability adjuster, possibly no issue since its not a positive pressure mask?
Jeff Morgan the fogging has gotten much better over time. Even with a non-adjustable reg the mask is performing pretty consistent. As you said, it's not a positive pressure mask so it doesn't really matter much.

Hi, i have a spectrum and dove with it a few times. Unfortunately it seems i consum my air more rapidly than with a normal regulator. Is it just me or did you have the same problem?

To help with the fogging and second .. would it fit almost any face ? As ie im using a tusa freedom on and a tusa m1001 hd ... thanks and please dont stop the vid ...
Joel Perron hi there! Yes we prepped the mask but now, over time, the fogging is definitely getting better!
Oh and yes I would say it generally fits most faces.
Joel Perron -- I have the clear lens on mine, and I removed it from the frame, burned off any silicone film with a barbeque lighter, cleaned it with toothpaste, and reinstalled it. So far, fogging has been no worse than any of my regular masks, but not any better, either. In the yellow insert card that came in the box, OTS recommends using toothpaste to clean the mask the first time (and advises to clean only the INSIDE of mirrored lenses), and to use "a defogging agent*, like a non-scented baby shampoo or commercially available defoggers such as, but not limited to, 500PSI®, Sea Gold® or Sea Drops®."
I've never used a Guardian, but it seems from what I've read that they're less fog prone than the Spectrum due to washing incoming fresh air over the inside of the lens.

VashBlaster if you can get your hands on one it is worth trying. The OTS guardian is a positive pressure mask and may not leak!
It the seal system is the same of those full face snorkle mask, it may leak inside...but like you said, nothing like trying one and see :)
Since you had problems with water in the googles of the mask. Did you figured out where was it coming in?
I also saw a youtuber that had a gopro attached on top and he had some sort of waterproof system for comunication that entered the side of the ots mask, directy to the gopro on top, but the gopro had a bulk piece on the side, I have no idea if it's a case just for that or what. but it would be very usefull to comment underwater while recording.

Oh_Keyz it's definitely good as a first Fullface mask! However, it's always a good idea to get properly certified on them before using it!
DiveSAGA why choose a full face over a regular mask? I’m new to diving and idk y but I feel like I would enjoy the full face way more.
