Would love to see a workflow that reads from a local file e.g a CSV file, performs some operations and then updates the CSV. Is it possible to have a file that's not in the /tmp directory.
Hi Kunule, didn't think of CSV processing, that's a great idea. Workflows run in the cloud, so it would be able to interact with your local machine directly, but we can do an example of a CSV file uploaded to an S3 bucket, operated on, then reuploaded. Does that sound interesting? What kind of operations would be helpful for us to showcase?
@@pipedreamhq Uploading to an S3 bucket, processing file then re-uploading would be okay. An example would be say a car parking yard with 20 slots. All the slots are entered into a csv file(as A,B,C etc). If say 4 slots are occupied i can send an email trigger to update the csv file indicating that now we have 16 slots available. A user looking for parking space can also send an email trigger to find out how many (or if any) parking slots available and where they are (e.g is slot C or F available). Net effect is that the csv file is constantly being updated with the number of parking slots available at any given time.
Thought about live streaming building workflows and maybe building some workflows requested via live chat as well? That woudl be something that I will be waiting for! 😀
Funny you mention that, that's what our Speed Run series is all about. We make short 5 minute videos to show how to build a workflow from start to finish: ua-cam.com/play/PL1t0lzi97kVw0EirsuDa1BnsaRnL6ZvLG.html We're taking requests for them! Just leave a comment on what you'd like to see built or submit your request here: www.jotform.com/220694247042049
And yet, another super helpful video!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for watching! We've got a whole series ahead in the works 🥳

@@imbayi Got it, very interesting. Thanks for the explanation. There are a few different ways we can solve that one, but thanks for the details.
