I just loved how she used the Japanese culture I love it
I don't think her performance is offensive to Japanese, in fact, probably a lot of Japanese will appreciate it, and say " beautiful きれい”, " awesome 凄い”. The performance was good, I don't understand where is offensive ? She didn't say anything bad about Japan or Japanese in the song or in the performance. Although I don't like Katy Perry, I think that this performance was well done and beautiful.

this is like a japanese chinese fusion performance. being part chinese myself, i'm actually not offended. those chinese lanterns are beautiful, and so is her kimono! very aesthetic.

As a Japanese, I agree. They really gotta understand what’s the difference between Appropriation and Appreciation. Stop trying to defend us when y’all literally don’t even have a clue what is offensive for out culture. We know what’s best for us.

It's a combination of a Japanese kimono and a Chinese cheongsam. However, I do suspect she altered it so she can move around freely and to make it more modern.

Not at all. Katy showed and expressed well the true beauty of Japan.
Yoon K Her costuming and styling is purely in pursuit of aesthetic, at the expense of accuracy. This has the ability to offend Queen Karma people of that culture who have their lifestyle inaccurately portrayed for the sake of performance ,without any consideration of the context of what she is portraying.

No need to say it's offensive, I find it beautiful as a performance. (Even tho she said she was obsessed with Japan). Half of this performance is mostly a mixture between of Chinese culture and Japanese.
