The end of mistborn era 2 was AMAAAZING, learning the leader of the ghostbloods blended so nicely with autonomy and the stuff happenning in stormlight archives :)

It’s theorized that since another one of his names is Topaz, that he held the Dawnshard in a topaz gem at one point. He no longer holds the Dawnshard. Also he had already been alive for a long time by the time Adonalsium shattered.

tress was one of the first cosmere books I read (after mistborn era 1 and the main stormlight books) and I'm glad it was because it reinvigorated my love for this universe. and you don't really need to know everything about the cosmere to enjoy it, it's a good standalone
If you're wondering why the Dawnshard is feared, well, the answer is the breadth of understanding of a Deity means basically that its more powerful than Nightblood(nightblood is op). As its the power of a god. So yes, very potent.
