** We are still deciding on perhaps mounting a bag rollors to our Akron machine. The jury is still out yet 😂🙂

Comment from Oz; we use the same bags and the Akron out-loader here, however, no bag rollers and re-cycling is in its infancy. So I built my own roller, quite simple really, requires two tractors, one with a p.t.o.shaft on its wheel and the axle jacked up , then a 3.5metre shaft with a pvc pipe over it . The other end is on the normal pot shaft of the other tractor . The bag is either stretched out or better still straight of f the bagging machine roller. I then run the tractor with the jacked wheel in low tear and wind the bag in , ending up with a roll about 3 metres wide and 80cm deep tied with baler twine . I then just drive forward with the pto tractor leaving the roll on the ground. Thanks for your vid. I picked up some handy points from it. Dave.

Now this is when that Neeralta you demoed recently, wins! All in one unloader and bag roller, it lifts the bag up and sheds the snow. No coming back to the field on another day!

Thank you guys for cleaning up your grain bags instead of leaving them out for your neighbors to deal with. One of the mega farmers around me empty out their grain bags and never clean them up and they blow into our fields and we get to clean them up.

Everybodys a critic, I know, but noticed the bag unloader Tony on Fast Ag channel worked very nice, and it rolled up the bag while emptying the bag. It kept it from getting the time to blow around and fill up with ice. No, it wouldn't be as entertaining, but save you a lot of work!

Mike, I love your channel. So how many grain bins would you need to put in to get rid of the bags?
I'm not sure if it would work for you guys but maybe another option over bags would be to build some portable grain bins on some custom built huge trailers that you could hydraulicly move the wheels up and down. The trailer would just sit on the ground when loaded. Maybe use some of your old bins that your going to get rid of. You could also use them for during harvest if the trucks couldn't keep up for some reason.
    I'm just throwing out ideas.

That Pro-grain did a pretty good job actually . To install a roller on the Akron wouldn´t be very efficient and after we took a better look at the Neeralta it looked like a bit of a hassle to set up . I think if you have around 10 bags and up , a stand alone roller is the way to go .

A farmer not that far from me used a JD 510 round baler. I believe he took the teeth out of the pick up. From what I heard it worked great. Our recycler is about maybe 5 miles from me they have bags just piled up ready for recycling. They hate grain bags and don't like to deal with them and don't like to recycle but Merlin says otherwise. LOL

You should build a roller solution for the front 3point hitch, since you only run fendts on it and it wouldn't be in the way. You could run the bag underneath the tractor.

I would try, the bag roller that you have, pulling the bag off of your unloader. Put them back to back, more or less. The bag roller should get the bag off of the unloader as fast as putting it back on the ground. The issue of the junk stuck to the bags could be solved by extending the distance between the unloader and the roller.

Why not make one yourself and mount it on an A-frame that you can hitch onto the front 3 point linkage. You could carry it to the bags, Unhitch if need to use the loader then re-hitch and quickly roll a bag up. Job sorted and I would imagine fairly quickly too.

Mike, I have questions: 1) How heavy is a empty bag? 2) Does the bagroller come a frontloader implement? Because then you could have a trailer hitched up to the Fendt, on the way to the field, unhook the trailer, roll the bag up and unload it straight into the trailer. And on to the next one in ramming speed.

Mike, I’ve got a question. You routinely jump on your smaller tractors and drive many miles at max speed (22 mph?) . Wouldn’t it be faster and less wear and tear to load the tractor on a low-boy trailer, throw on a couple tie downs and you could drive to the site at 55+ mph and save wear and tear on the tractor and tires and save some time?

    • @mikemitchell2554
      @mikemitchell2554  3 роки тому +6

One would think that, but actually it doesn't work that way.. For example, the Fendts can road at 34mph and by the time you mess around unhooking trucks and hooking up trailers, that Fendt would be there.
Even if it was 34 miles away, now you load the tractor, chain down, strap a window protector around your windows, and fold in the mirrors all to protect from rocks. Now that's its strapped down - which took you an 30- 60mins.. The Fendt is already there or nearly is..
But even if you got that done in 30mins, which you would have to be humping on it! We only drive our semi's at at 35- 40mph on the gravel roads anyways 😂🤦‍♂️ because of rocks beat them up..
So you are better to head off with the tractor.. And saves alot time and messing around 🙂
