I’m a proud Cornishman, and I’m in California. I have distant Cornish relatives in Australia as well! My results are on Ancestry and from all over Kerrier...though my known Cornish relatives are from down Sancreed, Mousehole, and Land’s End way! I hope we ARE related!!
I didn't want to do the dna test because i heard they tell you that you are just 'english' if you are cornish and that made me super furious! Now I might do one, so thanks for doing this video. ( From one of your possible cousins in OZ) :D
Through doing the Ancestry test I found - and it wasn't something I ever expected - that i descend on my father's side of Godolphins, Killigrews, Carminows etc. A Carminow 14th century legal case claims the ancestry even goes back to Arthur himself. However the DNA result didn't pick up Cornish but plumped for Scottish or Brittany. There's nothing in the tree to collaborate that as true! Although I do note recent claims that Arthur was Scottish??? Given that my great grandad x 10 [one of my 4096 GGrandparents of that generation] mustered the response when the Spanish attacked Mount's Bay and landed at Penzance beach in August 1595. i am going to whatever the DNA says claim and be proud of Cornish roots.

Awesome mate! When Covid is over can I come round for a pasty? What's California like?
Hello from Canada, Steve! Lived here my whole life but turned up as a match to you on Ancestry (5th-8th cousin).
love this Steve, persuaded me to do one; I'm Scottish; but it would totally make my year if I had any Cornish DNA; will report back!
Right on Steve
