@@flynt1977 that's dumb as hell, the two situations have nothing to do with eachother.
@@ray_donovan_v4 You're part of the problem. Alec Baldwin was the producer. He chose to skip weapons safety training for everyone due to time constraints and funding. Everyone knew people were target practicing with the weapons during downtime. A group of workers quit before the incident due to the unsafe habits going on. He broke the first rule of weapon's safety. His actions are the very definition of manslaughter. A child has no mother. A husband has no wife. He made no indication he was going to walk off and the white walking light was not on. Even good drivers like me can't predict people. I don't knownwhat happened here but I do know it's easy as a kid darting out or someone on their phone not checking traffic before stepping off the curb or people in your blind spot. “Negligence” vs “gross negligence” is just one example, but it’s even more complicated than that.
On top of any criminal charges, then there’s civil suits, wrongful death, etc.
It absolutely does matter. You can just google the specifics for whatever state you’re in instead of the smart ass remarks and certainly learn more from that than from me or what you seem to think you know already

So tragic, but Josh needs to be held accountable, both in legal and civil court. Reckless driving at the very least, vehicular manslaughter at the worst. And the family should be compensated. That big SUV plowed right into the poor man, there is no way Josh was paying attention. Condolences to the family.
Even if cell phones didn’t exist yet he had a duty to operate the vehicle safely and yield to pedestrians in crosswalks…
Even though the video is not clear, it appears Josh had something in his hand which was around the size of a mobile phone. Each and every responding officer should be charged for dereliction of duty and Josh's phone and phone account, etc. should be seized and searched for evidence related to the incident. Since the victim was in the crosswalk, Josh should have been charged at the scene for hitting the victim, at the very least. No one is above the law.
Pedestrian didn’t look up and stop, looked like he was in his own world which might be why the cops haven’t pressed charges.
I’m saying they were both inattentive, but obviously Josh has a greater duty of care…

How the hell could he not have been charged ???
Yep that guy should be going to prison the guy wasn't jaywalking and there should have been no accident if he was paying attention
How is that right?
I don't understand why the cell phone even matters. Regardless of whether or not he's on his cell phone, he needs to yield to pedestrians walking on a crosswalk. He didn't do that and ended up killing someone. So why wouldn't he get charged just because he wasn't on his cell phone when he did it?
My condolences to the victims family. That was hard to watch.

@@kewelcatdaddyyeah it looked like the guy was on his phone too. Was looking down the whole tike he was in the street.
That's not how you are supposed to cross the street in a cross walk. You are not to be looking at ur phone while crossing the street. Police made this rule years ago.
He should be in prison. What if it was him or his family how would he feel knowing and seeing the situation. How wouldn’t it haunt him every day. He should have offered them something to help when he did it and got away with murder. Come on camera caught and in broad daylight. Fire the person who made the judgment in the first place.
Always keep an eye on the coming vehicles, even at traffic lights, let alone mere crosswalks.

Ray Charles could see he was on his phone.
i’m so sorry to the family of this man. how the daughter is so calm is beyond me. absolutely the driver should be held accountable, doesn’t matter who they are.
No arrests...? Gtfo 😮
Its being an accident, his not being on the phone, etc. is no excuse for hitting him. If he weren't on the phone and he were paying attention, why was the man struck?
This situation is unfortunate but likely not criminal. It seems to be more of an illusion. All cars have an A-pillar that creates a blind spot, especially large American SUVs with giant A-pillars. During left turns, if a pedestrian crosses at the exact alignment with this blind spot, the driver may not see them until it's too late. This has nearly happened to me twice and has occurred to two other people I know. Additionally, I know of a contractor who accidentally killed someone this way. Drivers are often in shock afterward, as most do not want to cause harm. Auto manufacturers should use technology to mitigate this issue. If they can afford large A-pillars, they should also include technology to detect pedestrians.
if it would've not been a famous person he would be in jail now
Yeah isn’t that involuntary homicide?
With that evidence. He should have been charged with murder. Should be jail.
This is BS little bitter be a good insurance policy to cover this man's funeral expenses and pain his families going through.... charge him with distracted driving take responsibility dude
If you're inclined to side with Josh, just realize this: if any of us did that, we'd be in jail, for many years. But hey, hes famous, was a part of one of the world's biggest bands ever... He can get away with things
How was this not murder?????
For f sake another one that needs to be educated, this is not the definition of murder, I don't understand why people use that term and clearly have no idea what it means. If he purposely intended to hit the guy in an effort to cause him injury or death than you would be right but hitting the guy because he didn't see him while on his cell phone would be criminal negligence or possibly Vehicular Manslaughter. He needs to be charged but not with murder, educate yourself.
Why should anyone add shocked or surprised we promote alcohol we will sell you a vehicle that goes over 100 miles an hour and you are a rockstar he’s no different because this has been going on every day for the last 50 decades in this country in every city insurance companies like if the police like it in the government likes it that’s whyIt will continue for another five decades
You can do any crime and just pay the fine if you're rich and popular enough.
The law only really punishes the poor who pay the fine than go to jail.
So sad. Josh is a great musician and seemed like a decent human being, but his gross negligence turned him into the guy who took someone else’s father/husband away. Responsibility hits you like a ton of bricks if you dont carry it properly.

That’s infuriating how did this guy not get arrested? If he’s fully cooperating than why didn’t he tell them he was on his phone?
This is ridiculous that it's literally on video and he's not being charged
Yes sue him
He must’ve left his brake pedal on his guitar effects pedalboard
On the phone or not is irrelevant. He killed a pedestrian on the crosswalk so he should face charges.
Yeah, a normal person wouldve been charged with assault just by saying "i wasnt on my phone"

She stop and I yelled get off your phone you almost killed me and my dog. She didn’t apologize or anything and just drove off. This world is crazy.
Before you turn left or right, aren’t you always supposed to stop or yield and look for pedestrians before proceeding? He needs to go to prison for vehicular manslaughter or whatever
Kind of hard to prove at the time. His attorney will state something like, he glanced at the phone to check the time.
He should be charged !!!
