I have always been mad on mermaids since I was a child, this theme would be wonderful

I had never heard of Mermaidcore, so I learned a lot. There is a plant called String of Dolphins that would fit the theme!

You did a beautiful job putting this video together, music too, so calming, I really enjoyed it, I have a coastal theme home so it was fun to watch, what is interesting is the face on the mermaid is the same on all of them...someone needs to create a new look for her 🧜♀
I love coastal homes as you know! I find this version so much fun. You're so right! I found even in illustrations, the mermaid looked the same. The video I linked in the description box explains the history of mermaids better & why her face is the same. I agree she needs a new face😚🌊🐚
In case taking care of an aquarium is daunting, there are aquarium screen savers that your computer can generate, and they look very believably 3D. I have a friend who is obsessed with merfolk, and he uses this kind of screen saver to decorate and light his room at night. It's very calming.

While this style is not not my cup of tea, I enjoyed this video. My teenage self would have loved this style. I was always collecting shells from the beach.
I prefer the coastal more relaxed themes, they seem to be more doable than say the bubblegum? 😬elements.
This reminds me of some of the old Hollywood star homes that were quite garish and overwhelming from the 1950s. Jayne Mansfields home comes to mind.

Oh God, mermaids and killer sirens. Just shoot me now. You always do such wonderful videos, though. Here's a topic I've been wondering about (two topics in one, actually): 1) the difference between five-star hotel decor characteristics/trends and residential decor characteristics/trends and 2) principles for making a home look like a fancy hotel (preferably on a budget).
Those are portuguese tiles😮 white and blue, the ancient ones with illustrations, are typical from Portugal.
Portugal is quite connected to the sea, so it makes sense.

Ruth here, trends, may be not the best thing to embrace, but, hey, l am sure you'll make it pleasant to live with
I don't like gardening that well, the watering ect. so l carefully pick my plants, old Rose's take little care, there were some already here at the old homestead, newer roses take a lot more care. I went with a dark purple butterfly Bush, they attract butterflies, l love honeysuckle but so areas they don't want you planting them, they smell amazing when they are blooming
Mermen are bound to feel a bit neglected...and...I predict that this fantasy driven decorating "style" will soon fizzle out, just as most all fantasy driven fashion and decor styles die out as soon as sales peaked and begin to plummet. By the way...just a few weeks ago, I read that the reason which Mermaids and Mermen (for those who are so inclined) and the darker sub-culture versions known as Sirens...all had one common quality that they shared...WAIT FOR IT... Well, they could not engage in sex the usual way (for procreation) of the species. So they were exactly perfect...for...what inventive dreams of (sexually frustrated) sailors were made of. I did immediately wonder why I never figured it out before. I am 74 years old and have seen a lot come and go. I guess I didn't realize that Mermaids were NOT invented by innocent young children...because I'm NOT fascinated by mythology...nor fads that come and go.
Sadly that is the truth of mermaids. They originated from Greek sirens (who were half bird half human). Check the video I linked in the description box (history of mermaids) I think you will find it utterly fascinating. I learnt alot!
