Some of the areas that are dulled might be purposeful to make it more comfortable and safer for holding in a particular manner. I've done that myself at times
24:00 Stones may have been selected for an initial purpose then it evolved with use to another purpose. Maybe the kids got into dad's tool kit and "evolved" a favorite hammer stone into a rock.
You can see the carving if animals in them all ,effigies or tools usually several animals plus a human face in all of them each one.third one looks like turtle shell ????
@@KnapperJackCrafty only if I wanted to get at the morrow. If you used just blunt force you would smash hard bone and marrow together and probably disperse it in all directions. If however you use a heavy tool with an edge you can split the bones along their grain, like a piece of wood, and split it in half lengthwise keeping the marrow in the center. As for butchering you would simply cut at the joints.
There was a Fairland point found with these so these could be as old as 3000 years. (edit) I need to double check. There are other projectile points as well. I need to watch the first video in this series again...)
So... I watched the first video again and if I was correct about the Merrell points, the site could be as old as 8000 years. But they could also be Martindale or Frio points, which are not as old.

Your chopping tool you showed first. As a chef to me it looks like something I'd use to break heavy bones with.
Good to know. That's very interesting. So, you would use a sharp edge tool to break a bone instead of a rounded stone?
