I have to be honest - Pau always hits me hard when she sings, but this one - this one broke me inside. I've been battling inner demons for a long time, and this song resonates with that battle in ways nothing I have ever read or watched or heard or anything else has.

Despite the fan video, this is one instance where top sound is not the issue. It's a simple song but one that was tacked on to their latest album Error because the studio wanted one more track. She played this on the family piano by herself and submitted it, saying the condition was she'd never play it live. Too personal. But this was their 10 year anniversary show and just decided to, unexpectedly. She was battling illnesses (they all got very sick that week) but powered through. There are not many that can watch this with a dry eye.
I can state categorically that my eyes were not dry at the end of this. When she broke at the end I did the same, except I'm British so it would be impossible for anyone to actually notice. A special performance of a special song by a special lady

Yes, it is a fan cam video, but you can feel the emotion carried throughout the performance. What Pau says early on shows the bond TW feel with their fans and supporters. Note: Pau has been dealing with the flu for the entire week preceding this concert and had been taking medicine to get by. So, her voice was not anywhere close to 100%. And her tears prevented her from seeing the keyboard clearly toward then end.
She's an incredible talent, in every way. As a writer, as a performer, as a professional who just gets on with what she has to get on with. She's just special
This band will be legends in some point of time. I have no doubts.

I don't know how it could be possible to not love this young lady. She is a Genius on so many levels, but in the realm of Emotions she is beyond compare. Don't know what else to say really.

I am obsessed with her, in all the deepest, non creepy, ways possible. Everything she does blows me away - truly a generational talent in every aspect
Here they are, playing in their own country. They’ve been raked against the coals and called sell outs for writing and singing in English. They’re celebrating 10 years as a band, working hard and writing incredible music. Pau is so moved by selling out the venue that she decides to sing a song very personal to her. She had said she’d never do it. What happens next? As she begins to sing, the crowd begins to sing…in English. This is so amazing and heartwarming. Something similar happened years ago when she began singing Black Holes. People, no matter their native language, understand the emotion of the song and they learn the lyrics. This was such a wonderful moment.
The emotion, the intent, the feeling, the clear outpouring of love - everything was so incredible

Thanks Damien. This is the best video I have seen so far. I hope they had a pro cam crew for this concert, and it is as good as the Teatro Met 2022 concert. She does have a way of breaking out hearts.

This was special. That's the only word for it. I've been stuck in limbo work wise for a couple of years, but hoping that will change in the next week or so - being able to afford basic things will definitely help put my head in a better place :-)
I am 71 I've listened to a lot of rock and roll and yes some of it has brought me to tears.

A nuclear dynamo of energy, passion, and talent. Pau just grabs your heart and makes you feel her own emotions. Especial.
I've had some truly terrible, truly deep depressions in my life, some of which I barely made it out of, many of which I'm sure I still have yet to endure, and this young girl, this precious gift bestowed upon the world, has managed to encapsulate exactly how it feels in a simple two verse song.
Contrasted with that perfect depiction of terrible pain, the love that crowd gave her, and her beautifully sweet reaction to it...I just don't have the words. That girl has stolen this crotchety old man's heart. The Villarreal sisters must be protected at all costs.
Dany’s performance of WIA in Monterrey and this performance of Breathe by Pau at the Pepsi Center will almost certainly be remembered in TW lore as quintessential moments in time that will be referenced in perpetuity.
These kinds of emotional connections with an audience aren’t every day occurrences and I don’t think that fact is lost with TWA.
I haven't seen the Dany video pop up anywhere yet. If I can find it I might react to it...

As one of the 8000 members of Pau's choir that night, I can say it was one of the most amazing concert experiences I have ever had. BREATHE has been one of the most important songs, that affects and speaks to me, I have heard in the past 20 years. I very much appreciate that they can so adroitly and humanly address challenging topics with their lyrics.
As one of my Patreon perks, I had Pau hand-write the lyrics of this for me. This hangs on the wall above my desk.
Her performance, while sick, does not require perfect audio to convey the emotion both from Pau as well as from the crowd. I doubt there was a dry eye in the place at the end of this. There certainly were none around me.
I'm not sure I can bear watching it again yet, and that's safely in my living room. I'm sure I'd have been a wreck on the floor if I'd been there

I know I will definitely be disappointed when I see them live. Because at some point they're going to stop playing and it will be over. And that's going to absolutely suck!

The fact that she said she would never sing it because it was too personal makes it clear that she was, certainly when writing it, going through dark times. What those dark times are related to I feel no interest in speculating about - there are just so many justifiable things for young people, and young women especially, to worry about and get worked up over.
Whatever was/is going on with her though, I hope she really felt the love of the crowd during this song - how could she not? And that she can take that to help her going forwards
I’m trying to think, but I don’t recall a time when Pau has touched a piano that she hasn’t broke me. & then there’s Dany, definitely don’t look up ‘When I’m Alone’ acoustic Monterey 2023 😢. It’s just what they do. Feels Incorporated.
Part of me wants to ban her from ever going near a piano again. But the rest of me knows the world is a better place every time she plays, even if it destroys me a little.

@@SpawnMeister666 I've known them only since July and they've completely turned my attitude around towards other people. There's something I see in them that makes me want to be better not only for myself, but for others. They've got me in a trance of some sort, but it's a very positive one, lol.
@@montrealcrew1528 I wish I'd known them that long - if I had I'd have already gotten to see them play when they were in Berlin in the summer. But I get the trance thing - I am just lost in pretty much everything they do. Especially when Pau sings - nothing against Dany, who is awesome, but she's yet to destroy me the way Pau can
@@SpawnMeister666 Beware Dany’s midnight live stream videos- songs too special for reactions- LOL. Seriously - there is a video titled “Will You Cry With Dany?” and it is incredible. In my opinion, it is far too personal to her for it to be showcased on reaction channels, since it deals with the subject of her friend, who passed away.

I was part of the crowd and almost fainted when she played the first notes to Breathe. Last year at the Metropolitan I was hoping to hear it live, and almost got my wish (check Breathe "live" at Teatro Metropolitan if you'd like to see what that song means to the fans), but I was not aware until later that Pau never wanted to play it. So it was an absolute surprise. One of the greatest memories I'll ever have.
It must have been so amazing to be in that crowd. I think I would probably choose being there for that over any music related adventure I've been on...
Except maybe that one time I went to an Iron Maiden show on a plane piloted by Bruce Dickenson, and ended up taking over as unofficial head of health and safety in the venue during the show...
And even that I'm not sure right now...
@@SpawnMeister666 Well, that is saying something, your adventure sounds truly amazing! I must say I enjoyed the Metropolitan concert more, the sound was much better and I had a seat, but I think the sisters enjoyed the Pepsi Center event even more, so I am glad to be one of the 8000 that convinced Pau to sing Breathe and made her cry of joy. Although she cried for the same reason at the theatre!

I know a lot of people have a lot of different meetings for the song but if you really read the lyrics to me it sounds like it was written about a near-death experience with drowning... Like I said a lot of people can take it a different way but I personally think that this is what it was written about... That might be why it's so personal because it was a frightening experience
I think one of the things that makes Paulina a great songwriter is her ability to write things that can be interpreted different ways by different people. And whatever interpretation we all might have, her emotions when she sings are so clear that it's impossible not to fall in love with everything she does

*sigh* A Pau piano ballad, eh? She definitely has a way of just grabbing ahold of your heartstrings and then not letting go! Just a unique talent that she has. I remember watching this live on Instagram that night & it felt like we were all there with her. What a special moment - her with an incredible gift of this intensely personal song to give to her fans, and them to pour out their love for her back. You could tell she was deeply moved. Nice reaction.
Her ability to destroy hearts in seconds with her voice shouldn't be allowed. I'm still looking for mine from where she stamped on it and kicked it away...
