I think the fact he isn’t bar heavy is what has made him so popular for the global audiences. Most uk rap goes straight over the head of many other countries like the USA (mostly due to slang and accent). Central Cee is the biggest to come out of the UK, he’s the most known worldwide. And he’s done it in like 3 years only. He got bars, he got different flow but most importantly he knows how to make a hit. His point is never to be as lyrical as someone like Dave, ain’t no point when his music is doing the numbers it does but it doesn’t charge the fact that he’s still more lyrical than let’s say 70-80% of today’s popular rappers.

Tbh I feel the same way as central cee as you do. He gets a lot of hype which I can understand cause some of his songs sound good but like you said the bars are not complex, nor do they have much weight. I would say though his song 'Ungrateful' Is his one song that stands out to me as an actual painting of how he was feeling and the life he had
that’s exactly why cee is big to begin with, he dumbs down his music to appeal to the masses. it’s mainly his flows that are his strength and his ability to make a catchy song. no one is listening or interested in Cee for lyricism, he isn’t putting the craziest wordplay in his songs.
